yes i built the cornices from styrofoam insulation board (hot glued together). The curtains are made from walmart flat sheets sewed to width and length. The cornices are covered in the same material with a thin layer of batting underneath.

I'll have to remember that. I want to put up a cornice above our sliding glass door in the dining room, but was afraid wood would be way too heavy (since it would have to be pretty big).

Forget the tiebacks, fringe (??), zig zag trim and go for 2 curtains instead of 1-cleaner lines..nice job on the cornices!:yay:

I only have enough fabric to make a valance.

I got some black shears i wana hang behind this valance. What can I do with a valance of this material.

Get styrofoam or go to Jo-ann's and get a cornice kit. Wrap batting around the foam for padding and hot glue or staple fabric on the cornice board. Get a light colored sheer, not black.:coffee:
