To the owners of the A&E Motel in LP.

I drive by the A&E Motel everyday, sometimes after dark. I see the same people loitering around outside on the property of the A&E Motel. It doesn't take an incredibly observant person to notice that those individuals aren't standing there just for a little fresh air. One would think that with this area being a known hot spot where questionable activities take place that the members of the local law enforcement would police it more frequently and make a few arrests. It's too bad really because there are some pretty nice folks that live in Lexington Park in the neighborhoods behind the Burger King and the Checkers.

For the record I don't have a problem with Police Officers but I do have issues with my tax dollars paying for law enforcement officials who don't do their job.

No, I didn't really stay at the A&E Motel the other day........

Well that would explain the stains on my sheets! Thanks to the poster who added the photo. Does anyone know if this a "red light" area?

And now you know the reason for the hotel. Although 30 years ago it was just a low budget place, its now used primarily hourly. Lots of drug arrests in there too.

Saint Mary's Today posted a sex offender search for LP and Great Mills. Look how many of these folks are right around that area. Looks like three reside in Patuxent Park across the street...

I have a few military freinds that live back there. It's always quiet and peacefull and the houses are all well maintained. The sad part is that nobody would ever know it unless they took the time to drive through the area. Places like the A&E and the liquor store rigtht down the road scare them away. I'm actually considering buying a home back there but I worry about the resale value when it's time to leave,

There are more arrests in that area than you believe, They also arrest the same people over and over, I have seen the same guy arrested 3 times and heard him on the scanner arrested at least 5 more times in the past few months. So the real question is Why are these people let out of jail day after day? It’s not the cops. It’s the legal system and the judges and lawyers in this county.

Good answer. It just seems like the police should have more of a presence in that area to help thwart any illegal activity.
