To The Thief In The 7thD Last Night...

Nothing to see here
You have really pissed me off! I went out yesterday evening exhausted as I was to pick out a few last-minute Easter surprises for my kids and to retrieve a few things I needed for the house only for you to enter my un-locked vehicle last night and steal them! Well, I hope you really find good use for my cat's food which she did'nt get any today thank's to you and my carpet runners!
Thank you for NOT breaking the window out of another of my vehicles which is typical of you since you have been here more than once and also for not taking my wallet, checkbook, cell phone or GPS system!
I'm sure I should expect you to visit again soon since your rewarded every time you come!

Maybe you should consider a move to sane and safe Waldorf?

You know what? Tough!

(1) Aren't you smart enough to see a pattern here?
(2) The previous suggestions about locking your car might actually be worthy of your consideration.
(3) Leaving stuff in the car is always enticing (by the way the cat food is delicious).
(4) I suggest you become involved in this problem because that's the only way you'll figure out a solution.

Either way, she did not asked for her car to get broken into. A crime was still comitted. I hope they catch the jackass(es) that is/are breaking into cars up there.

It's called a "crime of convenience". If you leave a wallet lying around, it will be stolen. The crime would not have been committed if the items were not so easily accessible.

Don't leave things in the cars that can be seen, and don't leave them unlocked.

Devil's Advocate
Go buy yourself a large cat of some type, lions and tigers work well. Feed it every other day and it'll stay plenty hungry. Then hope the idiots come back so you can film them being eaten and then sell the video to all the news outlets.

For some reason this post reminded me of this story:

http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/92661/Student-arrested-for-being-honest
AN HONEST student who handed in a mobile phone he found was stunned when police arrested him for theft.

Paul Leicester, 18, played the Good Samaritan when he discovered the handset lying in the street.

He rang the last number dialled and told a friend of the owner he would leave the phone at a nearby police station. But officers arrested him for “theft by finding”, held him for four hours and took a DNA sample.

Yesterday Paul said: “I thought I was doing the right thing and had it thrown back in my face. I wouldn’t go to the police in future. All I was doing was the honest thing. It was a shocking experience.”

The A-level student at Southport College, Merseyside, had been out celebrating his 18th birthday last month when he found the phone.

Paul added: “Being arrested isn’t a good way to celebrate your birthday. What are you supposed to do when you find a phone?”

Merseyside Police dropped the case but Paul’s father Vinnie, 37, of Seaforth, Merseyside, is still angry over his arrest.

He said: “It should never have happened. Paul’s mum and I brought him up the right way. They should give him an apology.”

Chief Superintendent Ian Pilling said: “We are reviewing the circumstances of the arrest.”

Y'know, I would pay to see that. But you should dress them up like Batman and Robin! HAHAHA

I'd be pissed if my family were stealing my stuff; you did say you lived in the
7th right?

They said the theif(s)didnt take the wallet, but took cat food.

BTw-WTH?
someone took CAT FOOD but none of the expensive/possible cash worthy items? Uhh.. are you sure someone isnt trying to screw with you? I mean the other times, did they steal you know, stuff normal people would take, or random odd stuff like that?

I mean I can see if someone needed cat food and saw it open and decided to take it, but if they're in that much of a jam, wouldn't almost anyone either take the other stuff in hopes of selling/pawning/whatever to get more food? Or be one of those people apologizing all over the place or leaving an apology note?

Weird!

Check this out - it works.

However it is a sad state when you leave your car unlocked (either by accident or because you 'feel safe' in your neighborhood) & someone has to steal whatever they can get their hands on.

It's so violating..I happened to leave my car unlocked (by accident) one night - next morning someone (punks) rifled through the glove box, took a birthday card I had intended to mail the next day for my sister, and some change (maybe a dollar's worth).

Needless to say, I go out of my way to make sure my car is locked at night after that experience.:coffee:

My mother still talks about how when she grew up in Anacostia (SE Wash DC) they would leave their homes and cars unlocked at night.

Sad how far we've gone in 50 years.
