anyone have suggestions for places to look at bridesmaids dress? waldorf or lex park area?
The only bridal shop in Lexington Park area that I know of is Today's Bride. I would never go there to get alterations done...they lady almost ruined my Mom's wedding gown when she got remarried last year and both of our dresses had pet dander all over them. Thankfully when we returned to pick them up for the wedding, all the dander was gone.
As for Waldorf area, I would never go to David's Bridal. Their customer service was beyond unreasonable and ridiculous. They wouldn't allow us to look at gowns while waiting for someone to help us and while my Mom was in the dressing room (I was in there helping her), one of the employees just came walking in without knocking! Thankfully my Mom was covered up!
I'm getting married this year and I found my dress at Beautiful Bride in Waldorf. I have found them to be rude most of the time until I tried on my gown and found it to be 5 inches too short. Since then, they have been very helpful and kind to me. Btw, the lady who measured and ordered my dress no longer works there. My MOH and I went to the only bridal shop left in Prince Frederick (Carrington's) and we will never go there again either. The man that owns the shop and does everything himself was one of the most rudest people I've ever met. My MOH just had her third child in January and when we were there end of May, he kept asking about her size, made a comment that he would've thought she would've been smaller by now since she had her baby in January. I helped her zip up her skirt (we are doing separates for the BM's dresses) and when I came back out, he asked me if I could zip up her skirt all the way. I think my jaw literally dropped! After my MOH was done changing back into her clothes, we walked straight out of there.
Needless to say, me and my MOH have had quite the time with bridal shops in the tri-county area. It is my belief that anyone that works at a bridal shop needs to go to etiquette school and learn some manners and respect. I may be old fashioned but like someone else said, this is supposed to be one of the happiest times in a womans' life and it doesn't help when every bridal shop a bride goes to finds that everyone working there is rude and and disrespectful.
