What is a "competition caution"?

It's basically a pre-planned caution at a certain lap or interval for whatever reason they feel is necessary. In this case, NASCAR threw a competition caution/yellow because they suspected track conditions (rain) might prove unsafe for drivers, so they could check their cars, tires, etc.

Great run for Kasey! I was listening to it on my radio since those big-wigs had to be using the damn board room for some stupid meeting, precluding me from actually watching it.

The rookie in the 40 car and Keelber elf got into Harvick and ended his day. I loved how NASCAR waited until Kevin was on pit road to throw the caution for debris, nevermind the accident.
