Ummm was I wrong in assuming we'd swim WITH the kids??

*Parents / guardians of the students must remain in the designated spectator area during lessons.

Oh I love that place! My friends daughters first birthday is Saturday so we won't be going but there's a new indoor swim place in Waldorf we might look into since it's basically right down the street.

Every time I drive by there on the way to the gym, it is packed with kids.

That's weird, I'd call to ask about it. I can't imagine they'd have enough instructors or whatever for each child.

The place my niece and nephew went (Northern High School, I think) had it so you swam with your child. I mean, that's what makes sense....right?

Really? I've only been by a couple times and it's never been packed. I haven't looked into it or anything but I imagine classes would definitely fill up, though I'd also think there'd be a limit. I dunno.

Yeah, no way I'm handing my kid off to some stranger, he'd probly hit and kick them too

That's odd that they don't want parents swimming with the little ones. The lessons we do at CSM we have to swim with the kids and those classes go from infant up to 3 years old

I'd guess they mean for the older kids (that are not in the "Parent & Toddler" lessons).

Parent Child Aquatics - Introduction to water skills for young children. The focus of these classes is to work with parents on how they can better prepare their children to be safe around the water. Both levels help prepare children to be comfortable in and around the water and prepared to enter future swim programs. Under the guidance of an instructor, parents will introduce their child to putting their face in the water, blowing bubbles, floating, stroking and kicking on their backs and fronts. Children not potty trained will be required to wear a swim diaper under their bathing suit. All participants need to be accompanied by an adult in swimming attire in the pool.

HAC SWIM LESSON INFORMATION
Parents/Guardians and participants will meet on the balcony before class. Instructors will escort the participants from the balcony to class location. Parents/Guardians are asked to remain on the balcony during class (Parent & Child parents get into the water with their participant). At the end of class, parents/guardians will pick up their children at the double doors area on the deck side of the pool and take children to respective changing rooms.

From the info on the class

I did read that the toddler/infant pool dept is zero to 3 feet, that's nice !!

You've never been there? It's awesome! The little pool has 4 slides and a play area thing where water shoots and pours out. Such a great place :yay:

Oh and there's a heated pool where you can take your little one (if he/she's under 5). There's also a lap pool and diving boards for adults.

If anyone's in the area I'm sure they'll hear my son squealing... I'm thinking he MAY not like it, but, we'll see. He hates baths, he takes showers with daddy. But, he did enjoy waterplay last summer at his daycare.

He might not like it at first but hopefully, since he'll be in your arms, he'll end up having fun :yay:

I'm thinking he'll want to get in the water because it's so shallow and all the other kids are doing it ! That's IF the other kids are doing it ..lol

The lessons will be in the therapy pool, I think. Not the kids pool. We probably won't be doing tomorrow, but in future weeks we'll pay admission so we can play before/after class. The kids pool is awesome, the zero depth entry part has fountain things like a spray park and slides and other fun stuff. My monkey just figured out how awesome slides are so I'm hoping he'll enjoy that!
