Can you make marinara sauce out of it?
I don't think I have enough tomatoes for more than 1 or 2 quarts of sauce. If I'm going to go through all this effort, I want more to show for my labor than one jar.

So I guess since I haven't voted yet I should vote get more tomatoes?

Too late! I made the mix this morning. And it is mighty tasty - I might have my first Bloody Mary tonight.

The salsa she made was excellent...

Nice tomato-ee, onion-ee what you think of when you think salsa flavor when you first eat it followed by a solid jalapeno tang, and then this soft, kinda sweet, fruity finish which I haven't tasted before.

Devoured.

Salsa connoisseur

I used the tubed cilantro compound that you get at the grocery store. I think that's what gave it the sweet finish.

I've never had a Bloody Mary in my whole entire life - they just look so....bloody :twitch: But Larry's mom and sisters love them.
About 14 years ago (hell, I was GONNA say "a little while ago" until I realized how LONG AGO IT WAS) I went to Mardi Gras and had MY first Bloody Mary. They were my favorite drink after that, for years. I'd just never had a hot.spicy drink before.

I'm surprised you didn't have any at that great big party at Christy's a few years back. They were making tons of them.

Anyway - I had LOTS of tomatoes from my garden this year - but almost all of them are *little* - cherry, grape, yellow pear - all 'little' salad type tomaotes. Myra's brother was in town and made a little gazpacho(? spelling) that turned out great.

Tubed cilantro? I didn't know that they had anything like that. I have always used fresh. I guess a tube would last a lot longer than fresh cilantro.
