Traffic Ticket on Base

Couple of things, first, did Dougherty get busted or demoted? Last I heard his rank was Colonel, not Captain, and he was named the first NDW Regional Police Chief for Law Enforcement Operations back in August, managing the five districts that make up NDW (north, south, east, west, and central). I doubt if he will get involved in a local matter such as a ticket. Major Garrel Mercer has been the acting Chief of Police (not sure if he still is) and would probably be the one handling anything of this nature.

Next, what stop sign? Is it the one where Pine Hill Run Road meets with Hermanville Road just outside of gate 3? If so, it's about time as I have almost been hit a couple of times over the years by people rolling through that sign without checking to see what is coming from the base.

You're correct Ken. Mercer is still acting Chief of Police - or was as of a week ago. Tom's promotion keeps him away from Pax pretty often and when he's down here he's got beigger fish to fry. The appointment should be made with Mercer.

I realize military police do things a bit different from the real world police, but how a chief of police can play judge and jury is just whack.

I went and saw the Capt. in his office and he reduced the fine and no points. This was about 7.5 years ago.

I had mine reduced too, instead of points, etc, I just paid a fine. I went on the day when they heard all traffic cases... HTH.

Email went out in 8185 that about 10 people have gotten busted, they are at the backgate, just waiting.. I always stop for that main reason ! :)
