Not AAMCO
why ?
I realize AAMCO has a bit of a rep from yrs gone buy ...
.... but they put a Trans-axle in my Saturn while my mom still had it, back along 2003 or 4 almost 100,000 miles ago
Not AAMCO
You do know who you are talking too, right?
'99 has the electronically controlled 4L60E. Figure at least $1500 for R&R..more if it needs new torque converter and it probably does. Ford's similar E4OD truck auto costs same or more...>:-O
Good one though.....
Why sweat about a $500 dollar truck, just call Brandywine, or any other junk yard. They gave me $300 sight unseen for an extremely totaled 2000 Subaru. I signed the title, they towed it and handed me a check.
x2 for the Gearbox.
I've had 2-3 trans re-built by them.
they have a nice mint green 65 Ford Pickup for sale out front [if it is the place I pass everyday]
Really? Short bed or long? How much?
short bed, step side ... been there at least 2 weeks now
don't know ... I don't want to get disappointed
it looks really clean at 0530 AM @ 40 mph
Spotted it yesterday evening as I passed by on my way home from Dulles. Looked pretty clean and solid at a glance..
I just picked up a pair of 337 Lincoln flathead V-8s with the auto transmissions..a '49 and a '50, both running takeouts. Sure would like to find a "cool" home for at least one of them.
and for picking up the Lincoln motors ... you suck
[how much]
You lucky bastard. That's a heck of a deal.Two engines w/ transmissions, both complete....$450.

Truck is now 'in the shop' as far as I know. Dad's best friend came over last week and towed it out of the driveway; not sure when he took it to.....wherever he took it; said he knew a guy; one of those deals. However long it takes for it to return? I'm just wondering what the repair bill's gonna look like.
Just sayin'.....
