Travelers: Which airline?

We have a lot of discussions as to which airline has the best customer service/ perks. My choice is Delta and haven't flown anything else in the last 4 or 5 years. They treat me great. Free upgrades. Priority check in and security even my checked bags come off the plane first.

Your choice?

Bob,

Your choice may have to do with your travel for work. Hubby would probably agree with you, as he flys with Delta and United frequently. He gets the same perks as you. However, when we travel for pleasure, we fly AirTran because it's cheap and an overall good experience. I would never pick Delta or United on my own because their fares are a lot pricier.

Southwest

Which local airport does everyone prefer? I like BWI. I have a phobia about flying out of DCA.

BWI

Southwest out of BWI.

Low cost, good service, no extra charges for bags, etc... Website is real easy to navigate and get booking.

However, I tend to stay away from flying altogether lately. Just too much hassle.

Main Streeter
SWA - BWI

AWE - DCA

DCA is closer to home but that only works on weekends. Now that SWA is buying AirTran SWA's pricing, boarding and fee structure will be avialble on some of the Caribbean routes we normally fly on AWE.

Southwest and JetBlue.

BWI or National.

:yeahthat: I try for BWI but National is usually ok too. Dulles is too far and too busy to be worth my while.

Southwest is the easiest experience and JetBlue is relatively cheap and nice, but finding the flights you want can be difficult. When neither of those are an option, I go with Delta. For work travel, I prefer Delta. Building up perks with them is nice, which is something you can't really do with Southwest. Their travel program sucks.

Then again, Atlanta is possibly the worst airport ever and can cause a bunch of timing or baggage issues.

My favorite airport might be DFW because it's easy to duck outside to grab a smoke before your flight. Security is right there, and it's just a few steps to outside. Unlike BWI where, once you're through security, you're in for good.

Yes, those things are important to me.

Southwest, definitely.

Southwest (aka Cattle Car) sux azz. Still, they are a) cheaper than most anyone else, and b) fly to more places than AirTran. Given a choice, I'd fly anywhere AirTran flies. I'd just like to do an "Airport" run on those credit card vendors. :lol

Southwest and BWI. The Things have been traveling back & forth to JAX for about 6 years now and not one bit of trouble.

I know how SWA operates, and we need a routine for the Things. They are very good with Thing1 and since he is developmentally disabled, he is allowed to have his brother travel along WITH him and they both board together with the other early boarders.

I can't say enough nice things about the great service they've always had on SWA.

Has anyone used US Air? I found some CHEAP flights for my trip planned in August, and even with their baggage fees ($15-$25 each way), they are still the cheapest out of everyone I've checked (AirTran, Southwest, Delta and United).

I've only flown with them a handful of times, but never really had a problem.

I think I'm flying with them soon so I can let you know how that goes.
