Boy and I took our "Dual Sport" Ultra Classic to the Renfest. We went cross country between cars, through a field, around a fence to skirt the log jam trying to leave.

I need to go dig the dirt and grass out of the frame tomorrow.
Come over here. We'll hit it with the power washer and then we can do laps around the driveway or not.

QUOTE=desertrat]Hm, didn'tyou have an incident with a three wheeler once? How quickly we forget the lessons of life. :killingme

I don't think you should have brought that incident up. And it WOULD have been nicer if you had picked it up off of me instead of laughing at me. In my defense, I hit a bump on a not even road. And liquor was involved.

Power wash a bike? Shirley you jest.
Well we have never power washed out bikes, but I was just trying to get you over here for the game. I'll wash it. We have 3 and a T-bird that needs to be washed. I have snacks. Lots of them.

Whan Harley was asked by the US Army to build a dependable bike

http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/images/wartime/1942xa.jpg
The XA is one of the rarest Harley-Davidson production bikes that is well-documented and is considered a coveted piece in any Harley-Davidson collection. The US Government drew up a specification for a horizontally-opposed, shaft drive motorcycle in 1941 and asked Indian, Delco, and Harley-Davidson to compete for the contract. At the time, the U.S. was engaged in the war in the deserts of Africa, and it was thought that a bike of the XA design would be more efficient and durable under the extreme desert conditions. As well, the Army thought a bike designed like the XA with 2” more ground clearance would be more versatile than the WLA. A drive shaft would be more reliable than chain drive in the desert sand and mounting the cylinders and heads out in the air stream would allow for 100 degree cooler motor temperatures.

Yea like it was their idea. At least Harley was on the winning side right Herr Bob?

Do you not like Harleys? I know you have a BMW. I was thinking about one of those cause they are light, I think. Then I got the big girl bike. How much does the BMW weigh? I have a little problem picking my bike up if it goes over.
Actually a 1/2 hour class you could probably pick up any bike off it's side, an R model BMW just happens to be easier to pick up because it never falls ALL the way, the jugs stop it.

I don't dislike any bikes.. and I'll ride with anyone (almost).. just don't buy all the "clothes" and curtains and ashtrays, then ride your bike 500 miles a year and tell everyone you're a biker. I don't look like a biker, I don't act like a biker, but I love to ride, and I love to work on my own bike.

AND personally, i don't think there are many if any that would fit into the 500 - 1000 mile club on the boards.

And the rest of the story.. just like the Chinese version and the URAL (russian) version. BMW design that everyone was impressed with in AFRICA to the point that they all wanted a copy of it.. This SAME design is still being built in the URAL on new bikes.. and the Chinese version from the early 40's are still running.

If you went to Mortons, you would have seen the EXACT same chinese made bike. . That looked like it was just pulled out of a barn from under a tarp, then driven to the Open House, 60 some odd years old, covered with rust and corrosion and still running...

You are an obnoxious prick who never lets an opportunity pass to wank about Harley's. WTF do you care if someone has a Harley T-shirt, an ash tray, or curtains. Some people like apples, some like oranges, you however seen to get your jollies off telling someone that oranges suck and any fruit lover knows apples are better so you can feel superior.

You can kiss my Harley t-shirt wearing, 6,000 miles a year riding, 140 miles today with my kid on the back, ass right on the centerline you smug ass h0le.

Is that enough biker for you?

I guess I should take that class. Where is it offered? What is a jug?

I have a leather jacket, two helmets. I don't consider myself a "biker" at all. I just like riding it. Who cares who is a biker or not? I ride a motorcycle sometimes and sometimes I fall over and that is really funny when it happens. What bothers me most is the people who think their bike is better than someone elses. Isn't this all supposed to be a brotherhood or sisterhood of some kind? I have a license plate holder that says "biker friendly." I would stop to help anyone on a bike that is in trouble or on the side of the road. I hate the crotch rockets, but would be the first to stop and help them out (Lugnut, I lub you). Who the hell cares about who rides what and what is better? It's all a personal choice.

P.S. I still think Harleys are the bomb.

There is no rest of the story you dickhead. You claimed Harley copied a BMW because it is more reliable. I correctly showed that the US Government specifically asked for a horizontal 2 cylinder and THAT is why Harley made that bike.
