Trump Admin Ends Translation Services for Immigration Agency After Declaring English the Official U.S. Language

In keeping with his March 1 order making English the official language of the United States, the president has directed the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to cancel a contract with a translation service provider, according to Government Executive magazine.

The translation service was offered to migrants calling the department for information about their status under E-Verify and other government programs.

The administration is also now directing agency call center employees to terminate any call from a caller who can’t make his needs known in English.

Hmm Makes sense on one hand, why are we giving status to anyone who cannot communicate in English

Does sound kind of harsh, but when most of our ancestors came to America there were no translation services. More likely a family member or friend who spoke enough English to make themselves understood.

Yeah I thought so as well ... but looking at the department in question

service was offered to migrants calling the department for information about their status under E-Verify and other government programs

I asked Grok ...

Based on the quote you provided from the news article, it seems you're asking about the context and implications of "migrant E-Verify service" in relation to the Trump administration's decision to end translation services at USCIS. Let me connect this to your original question and clarify.
The E-Verify system, as I explained earlier, is a tool used by employers to confirm the work eligibility of new hires, including migrants, by checking their information against USCIS and SSA records. The translation services mentioned in the article were provided to assist callers—likely including migrants—inquiring about their immigration or employment status, such as issues related to E-Verify or other programs like SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements). These services, contracted with Legal Interpreting Services, Inc., helped non-English speakers navigate discrepancies or errors in their records, which could directly affect their ability to work legally in the U.S.

The article states that, following an executive order on March 1, 2025, designating English as the official U.S. language, the Trump administration directed USCIS to terminate this translation contract. This move aligns with a broader policy shift, as call center staff are now instructed to end calls if the caller cannot communicate in English. For migrants using E-Verify—whether legally authorized workers or those attempting to resolve status issues—this change could create significant barriers. Without translation support, non-English-speaking migrants might struggle to correct errors in their E-Verify records, potentially leading to job loss or wrongful ineligibility determinations, as experts cited in similar contexts have warned.

In essence, while "migrant E-Verify service" isn’t a formal term, the cancellation of translation services impacts how migrants interact with E-Verify and related systems. It reflects a policy prioritizing English-only communication, which could disproportionately affect migrant workers, both documented and undocumented, relying on these tools for employment verification. Does this address the connection you were looking for with the article’s reference? Let me know if you’d like me to dig deeper into any specific aspect!

If someone is trying to check on their ' status ' for employment .. IMHO they damn well better speak English

Yeah, that has no legs. Literally tons of accepted substitutes for signing legal documents without physically signing. He would have a better chance claiming that Biden was incompetent when signing or unaware, but not the signature itself.

President Trump Revokes Secret Service Protection for Disgraced Former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

President Trump has just removed secret service protection from one the most noxious members of the Biden regime.

As the Washington Post reported, The Secret Service announced on Monday that they had terminated the security detail of former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas several months before it was set to expire.

The Post also reported that Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden officially ended on Monday.

“Former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Mr. Hunter and Ms. Ashley Biden and their families are no longer protectees of the United States Secret Service,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in an email Monday obtained by the Washington Post.

🚀 President Trump has completely sidelined the State Department. Steve Witkoff first ran with Trump back in the day, over 30 years ago. They’ve been friends ever since. He started as a New York real estate lawyer, and later began his own successful real estate investment firm. He has zero diplomatic experience, but Trump once called him “one of the toughest negotiators I ever knew.”

Steve is an insider’s insider. He’s long been a prominent Republican Party supporter and was a close Trump ally during both elections. He’s poured millions into Trump’s campaigns and took the stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where he praised Trump as a “dear friend” and described how the former president stood by him after his adult son died of an opioid overdose.

Witkoff’s appointment—and his universal reach—make one thing clear: Trump isn’t playing nice with the federal bureaucracy this time. He’s completely scraped them out. So much for Ivy League credentialism, “institutional knowledge,” and interagency consensus. Trump has good reasons to ice them out. The bureaucracy leaks like a spaghetti strainer, and even when it’s not actively sabotaging the mission, the striped-pants crowd takes months to finish a memo.

So this time, Trump’s not waiting around for entrenched federals to stop World War III. He’s sent in a haggler. He’s locked the bureaucrats out of the command room— denying them access, and along with it, their primary weapon: the strategic leak.

Last time, twenty people were on the Zelensky call. They crushed him with leaks—fueling double impeachments and bogging his agenda down in the storied, army-ending rasputitsa of Ukraine’s mud season.

This time, he’s sending Witkoff alone. No leaks.

ID Proofing Policies Originally Delayed

On March 18, 2025, the SSA announced that beginning March 31, 2025, people would no longer be able to verify their identity over the phone. And if the beneficiary could not properly verify their identity through SSA’s “my Social Security” online service, they would need to visit a field office. According to the SSA, this new policy affected 73,229,000 people who received Social Security benefits.
Lee Dudek, acting commissioner of Social Security, said in a March 18 press release, “For far too long, the agency has used antiquated methods for proving identity. Social Security can better protect Americans while expediting service”.
But, there were complaints from recipients, congress, and advocates such as the AARP that there wasn’t an opportunity for the public to weigh in on the change.

On March 26, the SSA postponed the new ID proofing policy to April 14 to give a longer transitionary time. At that point, due to complaints, the policy was once more changed.

Fraudulent Phone Callers Stole Benefits

Previously, Social Security recipients could call the toll-free number to change their direct deposit bank information. But there’s a problem with using the phone. According to the SSA, approximately 40 percent of direct deposit fraud was due to someone calling the SSA to change banking information. And although SSA employees asked questions to verify identity, many thieves successfully stole people’s funds by diverting the benefits to other bank accounts or even Visa cards.
The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) estimates that $33.5 million in benefits for 20,878 beneficiaries was misdirected from January 2013 to May 2018.
