Did Gutfeld mention Pete's nomination or was his show taped before the announcement? I was watching the 2-hour premiere of The Curse of Oak Island last night.

Only saw part of it when it repeats at 3am.

Didn't hear that until I got to work.

Yes! Finally!! A real Secretary of Defense! :hot:

Highest rank was an O3 in the guard, education is in politics, and experience seems to be in advocating for veterans and political/military commentary.

Seems like a good choice for the VA as he was apparently considered for during Trumps last administration. I don't really see how that translates to secretary of defense who should, presumably, have considerably high level military leadership experience.

I too was surprised regarding him being chosen for this position. After thinking about his qualifications I'm sure - not that he would - he can lie as well as Austin... eek!

There have been lots of SECDEF that were Captains, LT1s, LT2s, even some elisted.

Most weren't in the military at all.

It's a civilian position of leadership, not command.

Oh, well then, I guess that's perfectly fine. No reason to expect the Secretary of Defense (formerly Secretary of WAR) should know anything about how the highest levels of the military function.

Frankly, national guard is overly qualified. Trump should have picked someone with proper qualifications, like his son in law Jared.

How the highest levels of the military are functioning now is the crux of the problem.

A fresh set of eyes and the will to make change is what's needed.

So if anybody or media questions Pete's nomination, just show them Biden's picks!

Enough said!

And yet most of them do not.

:yay: THAT is what has been said about Hegseth. I encourage everyone to find the clip this morning on FnF by one of his great friends and cohosts of the weekend FnF show, Will Cain. It was great - he talked about that very issue.
