I got my tubal while already open for my c-section. They did do my gallbladder laproscopically and when I woke up my head and neck hurt worse than my stomach. :lmao:

same here but no pain other than from the c-section, maybe they filled you up with air too

They did when they sucked out my gallbladder but I suspect my head was in a weird position because I was dying for days after with a head and neck ache. Enough that it dwarfed any surgical pain.

It's pretty common and very painful. :frown:

This is the word that scares me the most :frown:

I know the after labor pains are worse w/ each child you have (the ones w/ baby Jack were almost like being in labor all over again) so I am nervous those along w/ pain from the tubal will just be too much for me.

Do they still come in an punch your uterus if you get your tubes tied too? I was ready to deck those nurses when they did that.

I'm reserving my input until after Socki shares her opinion. :howdy:

I had mine done 12 hours after the baby was born. It was done in Florida and they made me wait the 12 hours. I wanted it done right afterwards. I was more than ready to leave the hospital after the 2 days I was there.

Oh and thanks for waiting for my input. :huggy:

I wish i had mine done when i gave birth since i had a c-section. But i had it done three years later. It was scheduled on a thursday and i had 3 days to recover. My doctor says that was how he always scheduled them, early thursday mornings, and a long weekend to recover. If you know for sure you want it done ,get it done immediatley after you have the baby.

I am getting my tubes tied after this baby and I am scared. :yikes: Dr. Polko said that I can either have it done the day after I deliver this baby or immediatley after giving birth (and not have to be put under)

Does anyone have any feedback, what to expect, is it a longer recovery time, etc...

Thanks a bunch :howdy:

I would do it all at once.. My doctor wouldn't do it when I gave birth. Last kid was born in June and I had to wait until August. It was painful.

If it's an option I would get the man to do it. Much less painful and a quicker recovery time.

I asked the Dr and she said some prefer to have it after and some prefer to wait until the next day :ohwell:

I am just not sure what to expect pian wise and recovery time. I am totally shocked that you dont get extra time in the hospital after havign that done either!

Nope it's in and out.. It was same day surgery for me.. Went in early and out before dinner time.

the only complaint I have heard from friends is a gassy pain in the shoulder afterwards.

:eyebrow: Do your friends need some anatomy classes?

Had mine done when Daughter was 2 1/2 (in and out surgery). I decided by then that a boy and a girl were enough for me!! I have always had problems with anesthesia :)barf:), but other than that, I just had the pain in the shoulder from the gas. And I wouldn't say that was severe. It just takes time for it to be reabsorbed/dissipate in the body. Other than those two things, it was a breeze!! Felt better and back to normal with a couple of days.

It's called Band aid surgery for a reason. They literally put band aids on the incisions. It was NOT painful at all. I did get a dull ache in my shoulder from the gas but that was all. (Just to let you know I do not have a high tolerance for pain and I am a total wuss ) I agree with the others who said do it all at once. What the heck you're already in pain right?

Make Big B read this thread and if he still wants you to do it, kick him as hard as you can in the balls.

It does go straight for the shoulder so the more you can walk around, the less pain.

I had it years ago..the procedure itself was a breeze..relatively little pain and none of that cramping, etc. associated with the gas they use to inflate the abdomen. What I did experience a few years later was horrible endometriosis, the pain of that was worse than any labor I had. Since my first monthly cycle, I never had a ounce of trouble...all that changed after the tubal. Horrible cramps, and a lot of other awful side effects I'd rather not put out on the forum. Ended up having a hysterectomy about 5 years later after suffering horribly for almost 3 years. If I were you, I'd do a lot of reading and asking questions about the after effects of a tubal. There's tons of information out there - PTLS.

In hind sight, I'd make the guy get snipped.

I had the same side affects from my tubal, endometrious took over and fibroids. My period became a literal pain in the a$$! I started to become anemic because of it and was haveing to get b12 shots every other week. Finally after much complaining to my doctor about it and one abnormal pap later, they sent me for biopsy's...it was found that I also have cervical cancer...So...I kind of thank the endometriosis for its problems because if I hadn't of complained about that they probably wouldnt of found the cancer. I go the end of the month for a hysterectomy!
