Obviously, a big part of Iraq's problems is outside interference and what we're doing now is dealing with the problems after the fact. Dealing with issues on the border limits hurting civilians, gets our people out of ambushes and makes IED's and car bombs way less effective.

....a withdraw from the interior and put US forces on border security? If we eliminate foreign interference do we not also, by definition, create the security for the Iraqi's to figure this out?

It's like our problem at home; you can't address illegal immigrants until the border is controlled.

I am afraid that the next real world war is on the horizon. And I think this time it will not be a "cold" one. Too many people not willing to stand up to the threat. Islam is a threat. The goal of Islam is world wide Islamic control and law. That is taught in the Qur'an. They will not relent until it is fact or they are annihilated. No one in the world, except the radical Muslims, has the stomach for annihilation, and I am certainly not a proponent, but I recognize the threat. How to deal with it is a very serious matter. The sad fact is that containment has never worked and Muslims are not contained. There are very large Islamic populations in all parts of the World. The goal is world domination through immigration, birth rate, and conquering.

And before someone chimes in and says that Christians want to dominate the world, that is not true nor is it taught in the Bible. Christians are to proclaim the Gospel, but not to force it on people at the threat of death. Was it done during the crusades? I don't know; wasn't there despite accusations of being older than dirt. But I can believe it has happened as there have been lots of things done in the name of Christianity that was not at all Christian.
