U-Turns Now Illegal on Chancellor's Run...

In today's Enterprise, there's an article in the A section about the U-turn situation at the corner of Chancellor's Run and 235. Apparently, "No U-Turn" signs will soon be going up in that intersection...did anyone else see the paper this morning?

It was also in last week's edition. Now in order to go the the video store etc. folks will have to drive up to Walmart and U-turn there. Seems that not allot of thought was put into making the shopping center accessible.

I always wondered about that... I didn't think you were suppose to but I never saw any signs.
I have a question: why is your under age sister allowed in bars after 9 p.m.?

The shopping center was very accessible when it was built, but the area traffic was made even worse by people stopping traffic to turn into the shopping center and the frequent accidents that also occurred.

Because she's well known by the owners, bartenders and bouncers. She was allowed in there before the new owner's bought it, she has never caused any problems (although people like to start things with her) and is known as a good kid who has never tried to break the law. And she's my DD.

While we are ranting about the morons who attempt to control the traffic, just one more.

Today at lunch, northbound Rte. 235: got the red light at Town Creek, then the one at northwest Wal-Mart exit, then the one at K-Mart, then the one at Lowes's, etc. entrance, then the one at Rte. 235-Rte 4.

Anu wonder we have a traffic problem here.

Well that just about covers the legalities of it.

So instead of making the intersection properly..just put up a sign to CYA

Yes, the lights are timed so that speeding is rewarded. If you speed, green lights all the way. Go the speed limit and stop at every light.

I agree with you. I just wonder why it would not be easier to make it a no right on red for those going on to Chancellor's versus the no U-turn. If we based all our highway decisions on keeping traffic flowing there would be no place to shop. Bottom line if people were not in such a hurry to get wherever we would have less accidents.

The lights aren't timed at all. A few years ago when 235 about to be expanded to three lanes, a group of engineers at Pax did a study and determined that timing the lights would delay the need for the third lanes for several years. Did the state government listen?

I wonder why you're supposed to be 21 then? :ohwell:
I really thought it was legal to be in a bar at 18, just can't drink til you're 21. And if not, how come so many bars in St. Mary's do it that way? You'd think they would have been busted by now.
