Dunno, that's why I asked. In Charles County, you have to be 21 to be in a bar past 9 p.m.
I don't think that's the case in St. Mary's. I was just perusing the liquor laws (it may not be the complete document though) and I didn't see anything. Little help Ken King?

All I know is that Monk's has had 18 and over nights with different color wrist bands to differentiate between over/under 21. Maybe it's just flat-out legal or maybe there are simple rules (i.e. identifiable as under 21) regarding under 21 in bars.

Why would a group of engineers at PAX determine that the need for a third lane would be delayed if the lights were timed? That doesn't make sense. All they are (I was) concerned about is the minimum transit time. Any additional lanes would only minimize that. Besides, I don't think there are any road engineers at PAx.... maybe a rocket scientist ot three.

The people that set the lights on Rte. 235 are probably the ones that determined the parking req'ts for the IPT, and north and south engineering buildings on base.

It's probably moreso to differentiate (sp) between the ages so it's easier to serve alcohol.

It's been a while, but I think it was an extracurricular project.

I found something on employees, but not bar patrons. Rondevous, being a bar owner, shouldn't you know this?
Whatever is not against the law is allowed. Looks like any age is allowed.

Yes, the lights are timed so that speeding is rewarded. If you speed, green lights all the way. Go the speed limit and stop at every light.
 On my way to work in the morning (northbound 235), if I do between 55 and 60mph, I hit them all green.

You can have a 10 year in the bar at any hour. I would not recomend it. We do not alow anyone under 21 after 9:00 and if a person under 21 is caught trying to drink the police are called. We also don't let any one bring in any drinks (no soda, water, etc., nothing)

There is something in the laws about obeying all other laws, so if a parent were to bring in a kid and you served the parent knowing he had the kid you could be held liable for anything happening to the kid. You could also probably be charged for contributing to the delinquently of a minor. It’s just not smart to have ANY under age people in the bar at any time.

A friend of mine (St. Mary's county bar owner) stated it was Maryland LAW that any person(s) under the age of 18 had to vacate a premises who solely served alcohol/spirits after 9 p.m.

Ken, if you read this, would appreciate some help. TIA!

I thought you were concerned because she was under 21?

Instead of food/beverage. Of course you can buy sodas, water. :duh:
Do snacks like chips and beef jerky count as food I wonder? How nitty gritty is this law, if it does exist? This is why I would never own a bar. Too much trouble.
