“A few minutes ago, thousands of UAW members at Ford, GM, and Stellantis walked out, marking the beginning of the Stand Up Strike,” his note read.

"This fight is our generation’s defining moment. Not just at the Big Three, but across the entire working class,” he continued, adding, "We will stand up for ourselves. We will stand up for our families. We will stand up for our communities."

Outlived their usefullness. Unions exploit the worker. Question: Do union leaders still get paid when the rank and file are on strike?
Seems you have a lack of the things that Unions members have brought to the non union workers in the last 100 plus years.

Most worthy Unions do pay, on just the fact that they are still working. The Local Business Agent is now working mega overtime for nothing, The regional and International workers and Officers are also still working.
The employee's with the members healthcare, welfare and pension offices are also working. bills, paperwork and checks still need to be paid.

What flavor kool-aid do they serve down at the union hall? Your response reads like a Chuck Shumer/Nancy Pelosi fund raiser speech.....

I am always suspect when I hear the union is striking for higher wages. My father and brother said that was code for higher union dues. They were always looking for better benefits.

Sometimes, If I was still paying dues at the Indy Local 34 as a Mechanic my quarterly dues would be $808.00

Based on the poll question, it seems many do care about unions as there are over 14 million union members nation-wide.

I would like to see data on what those non union workers receive that don't get involved in a Roth or a 401.

I would bet this is why so many here in American have nothing more that a Social Security Check each month.
Having a job with forced deposits with there membership outside of a companies 401 gives those to foolish a few checks with retirement.
One has few choices in the Elevator Union with what is being saved, invested for them.

I weep with so many men I worked with in my younger years that were to stupid to get the matching funds (8% at one time) when as an Union associate with United Tech.
