Curious about something:
How is it that celebrity child molestors never get punished? Take R. Kelly, for example - he's busted not once but TWICE for kiddie porn and his punishment is he gets to produce Britney Spears' new CD.
I swear if someone dropped a nuke on the MTV Music Awards or the Oscars, they could be a national hero.

The embattled R&B singer is in trouble, again, over a dozen nude photos of a minor found in his Florida home.
The camera-ready crooner, who is already facing kiddie-porn charges in Chicago stemming from an alleged videotaped sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl, was arrested in a Miami hotel this morning and charged with 12 counts of possessing child pornography.
Bail was set at $12,000, and Kelly posted the bond almost immediately, according to Carrie Rodgers, a spokeswoman from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

That's what bugged me about the reporting on the "pedophile" priest scandals. I read recently that most of the victms were not very young children, but male teenagers under the legal age of consent. That's not pedophilia, that's statutory rape. Both are certainly heinous. But a pedophile is not likely to go after teenagers, and someone like R. Kelly is not likely to go after little kids. This was NOT brought out in the media, and as a father of very young children, I felt manipulated by the inaccurate reporting.

That's true I guess. But it makes it sound worse then it is.
I just don't think that R. Kelly and M J should be grouped in the same category.
I know I was having sex before I was of "legal" age to do so and my boyfriend was of legal age. I'd never think of calling him a perv.
Granted R Kelly is much older then my boyfriend of the time was but even so I was a big girl and knew exactley what I was doing.
It also raises the question of wether or not he really knew how old they were. I had a fake ID at 13 that said I was 18 so I could get into clubs in DC. For $50 in Georgetown I had a college ID that was totally bogus. Had I met a guy who thought I was 18 and slept with him would he still be a perv or a criminal even if I misrepresented myself? What 14-15 year old girl wouldn't tell R Kelly they were 18?
