Absolutely. If you were 13 and he was over 18, and if your parents pressed charges.

But how is that possible? This is all hypothetical but humor me.... So let's say 13 year old Pixie is in a club. She meets a 35 year old man. She's thinking "money", "sugardaddy" whatever. They hook-up. He even sees her fake ID (which mind you looks like a real college ID) that says she's 18. They sleep together, take pics, video, what have you. He still gets in trouble if her parents find out and go to the cops?

I just don't think that's right. Men aren't the smartest of creatures (that's not a slam on men) especially when they're thinking with their "units". I just don't think it's right if someone was deceived that they can still get in trouble.

Is there any claim that R. Kelly's girls misrepresented themselves?

One such claim I could believe, but 3 or 4 is a different story.

I guess when I think of a 14 year old, I don't think of some wild slut bag lying about her age. I think of my own 14 year old, who's idea of being "wild" is having her Ringer buddies over to watch a movie. :ohwell:

I think R. Kelly is a freak and that he still has a career tells me something about the people who hire him.

Disclaimer: the "slut bag" comment was not directed at Pixie or anyone in particular. Merely a comment on the difference between 14 year olds.

I guess you're supposed to do a background check on everyone you plan to sleep with...

Pix, no offense, but you could barely pass for 18 now, let alone when you were a kid. Any adult man who can't tell the difference between a middle schooler and an adult woman is an idiot and deserves to be electrocuted.

Doesn't matter. I suppose he can fight the charges but he's still in the wrong. "Knew or should have known" that you were underage.

I just don't have time to give you all the pertinent information. My lunch is over. :frown: If nobody else (Ken) chimes in about the legality of all of this, I'll do it tonight.

I understand where you're coming from about your perception of 14 year olds. But I have been on the "other" side so to speak. No I wasn't the slut bag but I sure knew plenty of them. Most grew up to be strippers. But my boyfriend my freshman year was 18 and I was 14. The remainer of highschool I dated a different guy but he was also 4 years older then I was. He was 19 and I was 15 when we started dating.

I'm just saying while I never heard anything about them misrepresenting themselves one has to wonder how he met these young girls. Probably at a club or something.

But I'm not letting R Kelly off the hook either. Maybe one I could have looked past but when it happens again I have to say regardless of if they were misrepresenting themselves he should have known better.

Errol Flynn was tried for screwing around with a 13 yr old. He said she claimed to be 21. Her parents found out and had him arrested. She came into court, all pigtails and lace. His only witness to her made up slut attire was his friend who was killed, just before the trial. I think they found another witness who saw her because he got off, but never made another movie.

Nowadays, as long as he got off in the end, it would be a career boost.

Very true. But also keep in mind that I was much heavier when I was younger. About 20#s heavier which ment much bigger puppies. And in my case I was a little punk rock girl so you really couldn't tell what I looked like through all the make-up.

Anyway, what is the age of consent in most states like 16? How can you tell the difference between a 14 and a 16 year old? You can't really.

Like I said before, he should have known better and shame on him. I just have a hard time classifying a "dirty old man" who likes younger girls as a criminal.

But Pix, 14/18 or 15/19 is close enough, in my book. Of course, any parent who'd let their daughter date an older guy like that should have their head examined. But I did it too so :ohwell:

But when you're talking about a 30 year old man and a 13 year old girl, NOW there's a sickness. I have never seen a 14 year old in my life that could pass for 21. You'd have to be really stupid to think they weren't a kid, no matter how built they are or how much makeup they've caked on. At some point they start talking and you realize this is a child.

Are guys really that dumb?

Why? Do you really think they like those younger gals (13-14 yr olds) for their intelligent, stimulating conversations? No, it T & A and those young girls are fooling themselves if they think it's any different.

Is that what 13 year olds are thinking these days

No, but we only have enough blood for one head to work at a time.

And that's my point. I don't condon a 30 year old and a 13 year old at all. But it's safe to say that a lot of 13 year olds can safely pass for 16/18 year olds and like the guys say "if there's grass in the playing field...." Does a 30 year old man who goes after an 18 year old girl want anything besides sex? Probably not. They persue these young girls with one goal and one goal only. Often times they are beaten at their own game by a girl that's younger then she claims to be. Again I will say I don't think it's right but on the other hand I don't think it's criminal either.

I'm not saying that they want anything else. I'm saying it's not criminal if they 13/14 year old girls are portraying themselves as legal.

I have to agree with Sharon.Younger girls who are preyed upon by old pervs learn early on that they are valued for putting out or for their looks and grow up with a warped sense of self-worth, in my opinion. At 13/14, they have far too much to learn about themselves and the world. Hell, even in my late 20s, I'm still blown away by what I learn about people and relationships. :ohwell: I can't imagine (knowing what I know now) saying to my daughter when she turns 13 or 14, "sure, go on out with that 30-year-old guy ... I'm sure he has the best of intentions for you." :yikes: I'd kill the dude! :burning:

I'd agree with that too. If some chic gets a fake ID and can pass for being older, I don't agree that the dude should be held criminally negligent. There are some younger people out there who do come off as older. People have told me that all my life and they tell me that about my daughter just in how she speaks for 5 yrs old. If the guy's just looking to get a piece of azz, and the 15 yr old portraying herself to be 18 or older is willing ... What's he supposed to do? Cut her in half and count her rings to determine her exact age?

Yes, I understand what you're saying; but this is where the men separate from the boys. They boys go after it when they should know better. So it is criminal.
