Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was praised on Saturday for responding to the Ukrainian government’s plea to provide SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service so that Ukrainian’s could access the internet as Russian military forces invaded the country.

Musk made the remark on social media in response to a tweet from Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, who tweeted: “@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.”

“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine,” Musk responded. “More terminals en route.”

This mirrors my experience. I get to spend time training active duty sailors and sailors, shockingly, are still sailors. Nobody's mother is safe, neither is any other aspect of their lives. Its the joking around of people who know each other well and take care of each other.

1. Criticizing our Presidents weak reed responses to Putins actions isnt the same as siding with Putin.
2. If a murderer says hes going to kill again, and tells the police where and when hes going to do so, and all the police do is say they are going to cut off his credit card, its okay to say they were idiots.


This sort of lunacy is why people hate parties, they both do this, but the Dems takes this to this sort of ridiculous level all the time. If you think police were justified in shooting a man who was kidnapping children, you are a racist. If you think Kamala Harris is simply a list of job titles with no accomplishments behind them, you are a misogynist, if you think that a man who spent 15 years building a mans athletic body takes a year of hormones and is a woman, you are a transphobe.

You might think that. But I'm here to tell you, I spend time with them in the shops and on the flight line. I see how they act. Just last week I spent two days training four different shops. What's changed is that you cant be a mean ******* or bully about it. These are strong kids, they will stand up for each other, unlike 20 years ago, if you are a dick or a bully, the chain has tools to step in. But they also joke around and have fun.


EDIT: I cant speak to the Airforce, who knows with that bunch. But I know sailors and infer Marines, even though its been 20 years since I spent time training and testing with them. If the sailors haven't changed, neither have the Marines.

Thats where the friendship comes in. Chavez might make beaner jokes himself. maybe to someone else its a real insult. Same for gays, or rednecks, or whatever. We've always made mom jokes. But theres always one person to whom mom jokes are off limits, maybe his mom just died, whatever. Knowing what those are off limits things are is what allows this sort of thing to not be bullying.

A people that appear to be fighting back like the Ukrainians are is not going to be a people who will ever act peacefully to occupying forces. He will be fighting these people for a long long time.

In my exs family are one sailor, a marsoc grunt and two AF PJ's.
There dad was a AF PJ.... Its all alive and well with them also.
