Ungrateful "slum" dwellers

Put up a thread about wanting more handouts and guess who shows up?:blahblah:

What else could you expect? It's the time of year the "entitled" start demanding more. More than they deserve, More than they are worth, More than we can afford to give them, More just because they want it.

 I kind of feel that the white boy does need to shut up,

and all the other racist whites need to shut up too.

The whites will not live in that slum and expect the minorities to be happy since they got a TV.

Disgusting white racist crud dumped on top of poor Americans living in a slum - its disgusting.

:biteme:
But all of her needs are being met! I stand by this as true and accurate.

... and looking at her photo almost made me ill.

I will never understand the mentality that believes government housing is supposed to be upper-class and a "right".

They should have let that backwards, pathetic city sink into silence. :ohwell:

Jimmy's right. That white man was saying that race has nothing to do with the issue, and that people discussing race were distracting from the issue - making it harder to solve.

White people like that need to shut up, so racists of other races can confuse the issues, making them more difficult to solve. We only have room for a couple of races to be racist, and whites can't be it. Otherwise, the economic issues may become solved - able-bodied people may be led to work for what they get!

From what I could see in the picture she has nothing to complain of where that apartment is concerned! I saw a couple of the housing projects get torn down in Norfolk,VA and they reminded me of the shape of a cracker box and they could not possibly have been much more slum like.We rode the bus right past them every day to get to school when busing and desegregation was going on. She just might find out what an actual "slum" looks like and wish she had kept quiet!

From what I can tell she really isn't b!tching about the condition of the place but about the fact that because it is privately owned she has to cough up money for utility deposits and actual bills that were previously included when she was in the "projects".

The entitlement mentality is one of the saddest characteristics of our wellfare society. They are given to and given to until the point that they have no desire to do for themselves.

One of the earlier posts mentioned she's been living in the projects the majority of her life - since childhood. I didn't go back to find it but I read it previously - her mother lived there with her when she was little. I'm puzzled how she has managed to remain there for her entire life. No wonder she has that mentality - she is used to having it all handed to her. It's always been that way.

That is one of the problems with many of the "social programs" that have been put into place, it's just giving with no thought as to how it will strip any motivation a person has to do for themself and that can be passed on to the next generation as well. The children see it, they live it, and they too expect it.

Ah Dickwad, we still have people - WHITE - living in the Appalachia in one room houses with DIRT FLOORS - hand pumping well water ......... #### wad, this arrogant ##### needs to get a grip and shut her ####ing PIE HOLE ........

Poverty in Appalachia

Poverty in this region has been a problem for many years but was not brought to the attention of the rest of the United States until 1964 when US President Lyndon B. Johnson delivered a speech from a sagging front porch in a poor Appalachian mining town.

In Appalachia, severe poverty and desolation is paired with the necessity for careful, cultural sensitivity. Many Appalachian people fear that the birth of a new modernized Appalachia will lead to a death of their traditional values and heritage. Because of the isolation of the region, Appalachian people have been unable to catch up to the modernization that lowlanders have achieved. In the 1960s, many people in Appalachia had a standard of living comparable to third world countries. Lyndon B. Johnson was the first president to bring attention to the growing problem of poverty in Appalachia. Standing on the front porch of a family suffering from a problem that had been so long ignored, he declared his "War on Poverty". The Appalachian Regional Development Act (1964), which created the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), stated that Appalachia was a shambles:

The Appalachian region of the United States, while abundant in natural resources and rich in potential, lags behind the rest of the nation... its people have not shared properly in the nation’s prosperity.

Since the creation of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) in 1965, the region has seen dramatic progress. New roads, schools, health care facilities, water and sewer systems, and other improvements have brought a better life to many Appalachian residents.

In 1960, 219 counties in the 13-state Appalachian Region were considered economically distressed. Now that list has been cut in half, to 108 counties, but these are "hard-core" pockets of poverty, seemingly oblivious to all efforts at improving their lot. [1]

Nevertheless, after 40 years poverty remains undefeated in Appalachia. Martin County, Kentucky, the site of Johnson’s 1964 speech, is currently ranked as "distressed" by the ARC. (Distressed is the worst ranking.) Martin’s average income is US$ 17,152, and 37% of its residents live below the poverty line.

On 5 July 1999, President Bill Clinton made a public statement concerning the situation in Tyner, Kentucky. "I'm here to make a simple point," Clinton told the enthusiastic crowd. "This is the time to bring more jobs and investment to parts of the country that have not participated in this time of prosperity. Any work that can be done by anybody in America can be done in Appalachia." Like Johnson, Clinton also brought attention to the areas of poverty in Appalachia. [1] On the other hand, some Republicans point to the fact that the number of children living in poverty has increased since Johnson's poverty policies in the 1960s, and while many Republicans agree with the intentions of these policies they disagree about their results and efficacy.[2]

 The untrue white racist claims do not hold up when telling it to another white person like me.

The whites of appalachia are proud of their heritage and their "poverty" is part of their virtue.

Even your post shows a particular pride in having those "poor white folk" up there in appalachia because that means the african Americans in the white-created slums got no right (says white racist) to be complaining about their slums since the poor black woman "got a TV".

By the white God - the black folk can not claim to be "poor" when they "got a TV."

:diva: Then what is going on with the pompous whites on this forum degrading a poor black woman that complains about the slum she is forced to live in?

Like these self-righteous posters do not think she wants better.

I do not see any reason for her to be greatful to the pig-headed whites that post their bigotry on this thread.

We do not even know if that woman has children or what circumstances she has. We do not even know if the great "TV" even works or not - or if the TV might have been dug out of the trash because the woman might not be able to afford to buy the TV and some rich whites threw the TV away. I do not like making excuses for her but the white racist on this thread are making excuses to degrade the woman and to degrade her race too.

We do not know if she has a car which she probably does not, we do not know if that mouthy white boy that she told to "shut-up" might be the local pusher of narcotics into the woman's area and she might be trying to clean up her part of the slum.

You say there are more whites on welfare and that is correct, so why are the racist on here degrading the woman as if she is doing some thing wrong.

If it were not for that woman speaking up then there would be silence and so degrading her does not make any of the bigots on here to look big or better then her or anyone else.

Because I don't see any white people complaining about the assistance they are getting by reverting to the jungle mentality of a bunch of chimps who get riled up. Maybe if this woman lived in a thatched hut like her ancestors, she'd really get the message and GO HOME!

Did you see the news for the Toys for Tots in DC on Fri an Sat. Talk about ungrateful, and complaining about the wait and running out of toys, and how their children where hunger from waiting so long. Why didn't they feed them before they left?

Thanks, JMO

:diva: Then what is going on with the pompous whites on this forum degrading a poor black woman that complains about the slum she is forced to live in? She isn't being forced to live there, she just doesn't want to work to live in a better place.

Like these self-righteous posters do not think she wants better. I'm sure she does want better, just doesn't want to put forth the effort to have better.

I do not see any reason for her to be greatful to the pig-headed whites that post their bigotry on this thread. Sometimes the truth is painful.

Does it matter if she has children? If she does, does that justify entitlement to wanting more? Truthfully I don't believe she spent a cent on that television, with that type of entitlement attitude, I believe she decided to help herself during Katrina.

We do not know if she has a car which she probably does not, we do not know if that mouthy white boy that she told to "shut-up" might be the local pusher of narcotics into the woman's area and she might be trying to clean up her part of the slum. Great little piece of fiction, don't know how it slid by your ears when you pulled it out of your azz.

You say there are more whites on welfare and that is correct, so why are the racist on here degrading the woman as if she is doing some thing wrong. Look at the percentages, that'll tell you the real story.

If it were not for that woman speaking up then there would be silence and so degrading her does not make any of the bigots on here to look big or better then her or anyone else. I would prefer the silence.
