Some of our marines are a disgrace. Just because insurgents killed one of our marines with a bomb, that does not give us the right to slaughter innocent women and children. A shameful day for america. Iraq's my lai..Disgusting. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1198977,00.html

I dont have to be there to see the the tape and pictures. Shame on those marines who may have done this. Im just bringing you the news. Very strong evidence points to a slaughter. Marines will be charged with murder and may even be executed. Those are the people you should be ashamed of.

This isn't "news" genius, it happened in November. And I agree with Mikey. Shame on you for sullying the men and women who have died for your freedom on their Memorial Day.

This was covered up by the military months ago and is NOW just surfacing.
That is the news. The slaughter that happened months ago was covered up. That is the news today. I understand that they are only a few out of how many?? But bad apples need to be weeded out..That was my point.

I'm guessing you missed the news on 9-11-01. How convenient.

Hey dorkass, if 15 out of millions screwed up, they'll be punished. We have soldiers serving time for posing in pictures with nude prisoners. :duh: We police and punish our own.

Your point was to try to disgrace our military. Take your liberal propaganda and blow it out of your ass jerkoff. :smack:

So do you want a clean war with no civilian casualities? There is one way to do that, volunteer to serve your country or don't you think we should be there in the first place? If nothing else, today of all days is not the day to try and disgrace our military. They have and are keeping us a free country and will continue to do so until the world ends. Today I remember those that served before and after me, those that gave their lives and those that didn't because without them we wouldn't be the greatest country in the world in so many ways. Your point has been noted, you just picked the wrong time to present it.

Coverup? Hamourabi, a human rights group, brought it the attention of the world in March, three Marine officers have been relieved of command and 12 other Marines are undergoing investigation. How does this equate to a coverup?

Until you have lived over here in the hot desert being shot on a daily basis, I think you have no right to even speak. The news tells you what you want to see. Those guys who are running the streets of a place where your not wanted and getting shot at on a daily basis are fighting for your freedom, the freedom of those in the country they are in and so they can come home to their families. In Iraq everyone carries a gun and will use it, kids, women and there fathers. There are alot of people shot over there every day. Why don't you write about those who slaughter people in the US Cities that we all call citizens of a free country.

...ditto that BIG TIME.

frstabbo, it's a damn shame one soldier ever got a paper cut let alone died to provide the freedom that people like you pizz away like it's some disposable trinket.

As you don't seem to have a friggin clue, here's a freebie; One of the things that THEY gave YOU was a society that presumes innocence until proven guilty. The very least you could do is return the favor. If not that, you could have kept your pie hole shut for at least one damn day before exercising another right they bled to give you; the right to be an azzhat.

The story they gave was the coverup. It was only brought to light because of the pictures of women and children that were shot in their homes in their night clothes.

Well said! (checking watch.....) Hmm, somebody must be searching for an appropriate response and coming up blank so far.

I say to frstabbo, if you haven't served...you have gotten more than you deserve, especially with the attitude you offer on this day of all days.

The story who gave? The one the PAO released to the media back in November or the one the troops gave upon return after their brother Marine was killed that day? I heard the one the media reported about the IED and killing of 8 insurgents that the PAO for the company eventually rescinded but have heard nothing else. Do you have or have you seen the actual combat reports given by that team?

And another thing, your initial reference to My Lai is misplaced at best. With Calley's overturned conviction wasn't it determined that he and his men were ordered to do what they did and there was tangible proof that they had done it and not just some pictures and video of covered bodies?

You must be rather young as your memory of what took place in Vietnam and making comparisions to what has taken place in Iraq can in no way, shape, or form be seen as similar. Unless, of course, you are being spoon fed your information by an anti-war fanatic.

First of all, I would like to apologise to everyone for starting this thread on this day. It was not my intention to insult our proud marines and if I did, I am sorry. I understand 99.99999 percent are professionals and I am very proud of. My only beef was with the VERY few who may have damaged the marines name and may have put other marines lives in danger from retrobutions. That is all I was trying to say here. I know now i chose the wrong day to bring this up. God bless America.
