Nice truck, Although I'd be more impressed if it was stock.

Because if it was stock it would have worn out suspension, sloppy steering a crappy old motor and trans, holes in the seats, holes in the body and you'd need a tetanus shot every time you got close to it

Then perhaps you missed my point. That it brought 70 grand and is not stock was my point. A typical more-or-less average street&trail build using very popular and readily available aftermarket products and components. Heck, it pales in comparison the '76 I'm building right now.....the next in a long line of 'em.

Odd thing was...a nearly mint stocker went for a good deal less. ?

Well, the thing is only about 42 years old. Wouldn't you have some physical issues at that age?:buddies:

BJ had some crazy high prices!!

A guy I know is part of a group that handles sales for collectors and buy/hold/sell a lot of cars themselves.

They had a rare Corvette on the block that brought something like 3.5 million bucks. He said they made a chit-ton of profit on that flip.

Leno had one of these junkers on his TV show ...

$ 150-200,000 for a fully custom rig ..
... down to the billet alu. around the marker lights

:bs:

for that kinda of scratch I'd build at least 5 or 6 ....

We had one many, many years ago. It was a beast to drive, so I didn't.

The early ones had 3-spd on the tree, manual drum brakes and manual steering.

Yup..not very driver friendly. We upgrade the heck out of 'em to fix all that.

There's an old I-H Scout for sale up in Mechanicsville. Looks like it would be fun to build on that.

Damn straight :yay: I'd pay the $70k to knock 42 years off my age

We saw a guy driving an airplane-looking thing not long ago. You gotta just wave and say hi to anyone willing to do that and go out in public with a beaming smile like he had <G>. The guy was obviously happy and proud.
