Van converted for handicapped Mom

This way might be cheaper. if buy a van and then convert it they have to pull out all the seats and guts in the interior.

I am not sure where Huntingtown is in relation to Leonardtown, but there is a van for sale on Rt 234 that says it is handicapped accesible w/ wheel chair lift.
Do a google search for dealers. The closest dealer that sells vans already converted for wheelchair use in Beltsville. There is a lot more to it than just removing seats and installing a lift. Much more if you want a mini van.
Lifts are big money. Maybe you just need a vehicle with a ramp? (Less mantenance) Either way there is one or two the are for sale somewhere on Rt5 in Hughesville down to Rt235 in Oakville. They move it around.

Am seeking some advice please. I need to buy a new mini-van for my Mom to ride in. She is wheelchair bound. I'm thinking to buy a mini-van and take it someplace to have a wheelchair lift put in. Does anyone know who installs wheelchair lifts in vans? Thank you.
There is an outfit somewhere along Rte 50, I want to say Easton, MD. They also have some used wheelchair vans on the lot, as those things go, they are at times converted and the customer doesn't need it as long as anticipated.
That's what I was thinking. Its at Clements intersection parked near Jimmy's Auto Body.

Yep please do get one already converted. I knew a retired engineer from chrysler that converted vehicles for people and they were often a MAJOR challenge to get right.
There are changes every year to the models.
One year might use a relay to engage cruise control and the next year it a ttl command to a computer via a coaxial bus.
A lift should be simple but might not be.
Special controls for the pedals might get complicated.

Exactly what I was thinking. They seem to always have one there, and then once that one sells or what not, another one replaces it.

At the shop on the left as you approach the intersection in Clements coming from Leonardtown.
Htown is a few miles north of Prince FrederickAs someone else mentioned earlier, you may want to try to find a van with a ramp. They are much more reliable if you encounter a mechanical issue and can be unfolded manually so that you aren't stuck in an area when the lift malfunctions and you can't even get the lift to retract to close the van.

We looked around here for a year. Really expensive in this area. I finally went to an outfit outside of Atlanta, GA and bought the van and drove it home to SoMD. Saved several thousand. It's Chrysler Town and Country. They strip out the insides, lower the floor, move the muffler, etc. One of the responders recommended a ramp. They are less expensive. That's what we ended up with. We can push the chair up and lock it down (get the automatic retracting floor straps! They are more $$ but WORTH it).Am seeking some advice please. I need to buy a new mini-van for my Mom to ride in.
