Anyone else having issues connecting? I contacted them last night & they said there is an outage in the Lexington Park area; got a call at 8:00 AM saying it's fixed. Not true. So I called again & the recording says 'they're working on it'.

Yeah. Mine was down this morning too. I'll check it again when I get home in a little while.

Ours has been out since yesterday morning. We called them and they said there was no outage, your line checks out fine and it must be your modem (they've said that before and our modem was fine). So we called the modem people, they checked it out (2 hours) and said once again our modem was fine.

So we call verizon back, they still can't find out what the problem is and want to charge us for some expert technical service? We decide nope on that one. Finally we call them again later when our neighbor was out too, and they tell us, oh there is an outage in your area and it should be resolved by 9/8/12 at 8:00 p.m. WTF what a run around and two days or more without service? Unsat!:eyebrow:

I called again last night, they told me it will be fixed by the 11th of September...I just got this 'service' on the 31st of August & needless to say, I'm not too satisfied. I can't believe they wanted to 'charge for expert technical service':eyebrow: No one said anything like that to me....they know that the problem is on their end. As far as I'm concerned they need to adjust my bill & provide credit for the time it's been out.

You still down? Mine came up last evening, went up and down a few times, but seems to be stable now.

And if you haven't already, reboot the router.

Yep, still down. I rebooted the router/recyled power to both the router & computer - still no luck. Good thing I have my trusty tablet with air card, but I really want to use my brand new computer :tantrum

Well, mine went down hard Sat morning, and is still down. Came in to work where there is a DSL line, and it too was down.

I hope they get this fixed soon.

Oh, SeaBreeze, our other neighbor has DSL and has been down all weekend too.

Sigh ...

Down since the wee hours of Friday morning. Called Verizon Friday afternoon and they said there was a known problem with equipment in Lexington Park and it would be resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Service came and went several times throughout the day on Saturday. It came back again at 6:30 AM Sunday and then died around 10:00 AM and has not come back since. I called Verizon again and there was no change in status at that time. Received a call just after noon on Saturday to inform us that service had been restored. It was not. Called Verizon later Saturday afternoon just in case they mistakenly believed all was well. They said they are "having a hard time isolating the problem" and they had no estimate as to how much longer service would be out.

What puzzles me besides, how could it possibly take this long to get this straightened out is how can equipment in Lexington Park be affecting DSL service at the Northern end of the California area; Wildewood in our case? I thought DSL was limited to just 2 to 3 miles from the central office.

I also am curious to know how many customers are effected. At least a few others I know who actually live in Lexington Park have not had any problems. I can't help but wonder if the nature of the problem is such that only a relative handful of lines are effected which might account for the appearance that Verizon may not be fully engaged in resolving it.

I've been toying with the notion of switching to cable modem to get support for 1080P streaming. Now may be the right time. At least I can still get to eBay via my iPhone to procure a cable modem.

Back up. For now ...

:yahoo:
According to my NAS device, which is kind enough to inform me of these things, my DSL came back on at 2:14 this afternoon. We shall see how long it lasts this time.

Ah! That would explain it. Thanks. BTW, mine has stayed up since it came back yesterday afternoon. Of course now I have visions of 12 Mbps d/l and Vudu HDX and AppleTV 1080P in my head, so I guess this basically just gave me the kick in the pants I needed to make the switch over to cable.

I have been without internet since the 8th - finally got someone around 11:00 last night who checked our landlines - - he did work with us for quite sometime - -now if I understand it right as my son was doing the checking upstairs - we were getting to much frequency etc., whatever we needed - so slowed it down - - and we do get Internet - now my next door neighbor on both sides also have a problem, - Verizon told one person that they are checking to see where the LEAK is - that evidently transmission or whatever is being leaked else where???? I wonder if some of us are giving up our frequencies/transmissions etc to accommodate new folks -

I was fortunate in one aspect - we finally got a hold of someone at Verizon last night who spent sometime tracking down the problem and it was Verizon's problem - not modern - router etc. We were getting too much frequency??? so they lowered it - they explained it to my son - he also gave us a website so that we could check our frequencies - both of my neighbors are either side of us have problems - at least mine is working now
