Verizon DSL ~ No worky

Thanks, mine keeps going in & out (mostly out) I called Verizon & they said 'it's my line' :cussing: & they are sending a technician tomorrow.

Question, there is a splitter on my wall phone jack.

I have the modem going directly into the 'line' connection & there is another connection that is for my phone (which I have unplugged totally due to too many telemarketers). The Verizon tech said I should not be going through the splitter, however it has worked fine for months. I can't get the damn splitter off the wall jack (I think it may be hardwired).

It's a 2WIRE DSL filter (Model #: LFT4-2-WM); wonder if that is the problem?

*BTW I have a phone line, checked that 1st thing when the current issues started.
*Edit, Now that I think more, the 2WIRE filter cannot be hardwired, guess I need to figure out how to get it off.

The problem isnt you, its Verizon. I've had verizon DSL since 2003 and no problems until recently.

This is so frustrating. I

hooked up my modem to another phone jack without any filter & it's working right now. *Keep fingers crossed*

My phone line has a little static though.

If it stays connected for more than 5 minutes, perhaps I can pin it down to the 2WIRE DSL filter.

Now to google to see if there are instructions on how to get that sucker off my wall phone jack. :lmao:

The DSL filter is for any phone device OTHER than the DSL modem. It's fine to share the jack with a splitter, but make sure the line to the DSL modem does not have the filter.

The static is probably a dirty jack. Snap it in and out a few times.

Yes, the modem was going into the 'Line' jack; removed the 2WIRE DSL filter finally. However, hooked up the Modem direct to a phone jack with no filter & service lasted maybe 10 minutes (I'm back on just because I got lucky for a few secs :killingme) Anyhow, still lots of static, so maybe when they come out tomorrow they'll discover something via the NID box.

Here's what I get when I check via Verizon Management Console if I can't connect: "<TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD id=frame_data_noname1><TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD width="10%"></TD><TD width="40%">Physical Link</TD><TD width="50%">DSL</TD></TR><TR><TD width="10%"></TD><TD width="40%">Internet ConnectType</TD><TD width="50%">PPPoE</TD></TR><TR><TD width="10%"></TD><TD width="40%">Internet Provider</TD><TD width="50%">Disconnected</TD></TR><TR><TD width="10%"></TD><TD width="40%">Internet Connectivity</TD><TD width="50%">Not Tested</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=middle colSpan=3>

Only problem I ever had with Verizon DSL was when my router went bad and they had one shipped and on my doorstep the next day.
