Verizon Simply Doesn't Care! Any Suggestions?

You aren't gonna believe this! After taking another call (for a different number) - I got through with Verizon. Would you believe they say they didn't know about my problem only the "dial tone" problem which was fixed yesterday. I knew Verizon wasn't listening when I called yesterday. Anyway, they said a Supervisor would call me on my cell phone (not my landline - who knows where that would go). And the beat keeps going on and on and on and on...:killingme:killingme:killingme

that sounds like a huge headache. good luck

Still waiting on the phone call. Heck, it has only been 1 hour so they still have another hour.:killingme:killingme:killingme

I'm retired - so I plan on going the extra 5,000 miles until this is fixed or I get a refund for this problem and the other 5 years of static, noise, etc. I know - I'm dreaming...but what the heck!:killingme:killingme:killingme

I've had it - but what can you do when you are having problems with a monopoly.

For 5 years I've had problems with static and callers not being able to hear me (sounds like I'm miles away). It doesn't do it all the time but when it does - it is a pain. Yes, Verizon has come out and said it is on their side but when it finally goes away (which it will by itself anyway) Verizon says it is fixed. It just comes back again and I have to play the same game with them.
We had something similar. Technician comes out and plays around with the wires out at the street tower, fixes it for a while and then the static returns. Same thing, caller can't hear you, and hard to hear the other caller. And their admission that it is on their side. Next time a technician visits, why don't you just ask if they would replace the line?

Three weeks ago they finally replaced ours, only they left it above ground until Miss Utility shows up. I now enter all of our phone complaints on-line, and keep watching to see that it doesn't disappear from their scope.

Gluck. :yay:

Ah, another update. I tried calling my cell phone from my landline - guess what? It rings three times and goes to my answering service. Oh yea, my cell phone is right next to me with three bars. My oh my - what a surprise. Verizon strikes out again. Hey, maybe that is why they haven't called me back within the 2 hour timeframe they quoted.:killingme:killingme:killingme

Another update - I just went online to check the status of my original problem (no dial tone). Guest what I was greeted with:

Verizon Local and Long Distance Repair Status

Telephone Number: (301) 475-????

We are temporarily unable to retrieve repair status information for this number. Please try again later.

Sounds like a Verizon Melt Down!:killingme:killingme:killingme:killingme

Update - I never heard from Verizon so I called again. Guess what? I just got off the phone with Verizon and you will never ever guess what they told me? It will be fixed September 15th! Ain't life great!

mmmmhmmmmm
I guess that means they are not charging you for service until the problem is fixed. I would definately make sure of that.

This time I will push it until something breaks!:killingme:killingme:killingme

Now I just get calls and when they hear my voice they hang up. I will take the phone off the hook when I go to bed. Otherwise, I will get calls all night.:killingme:killingme:killingme

On the bright side - at least I can dial out.

I've had it - but what can you do when you are having problems with a monopoly.

Right now - I am dealing with "switched wires." We lost our Service Friday and they finally got it back online yesterday. Unfortunately (for me) they switched my line with someone that has a bunch of kids and get a bunch of calls. I contacted Verizon and they said they will have the problem fixed by 9:00PM and would let them know about new problem. I finally took my phone off the hook last night (9:30PM) to stop all the phone calls to the other party! This morning I tried calling my number and it rings and rings (but not in my house!). I call my cell phone (from home) and I'm still stuck with someone elses number.

If I had a choice of home providers - I would jump. We changed our home number (same house) and when I called again about the static, etc. - Verizon said this is my first complaint BECAUSE they erased the history from our previous phone number - how convenient! Unfortunately, Verizon knows they are the "only game in town" and simply doesn't give a hoot about my problem.

Wow - I feel much better now.

Two things. 1st, Vonnage. We've had it for almost 4 years. Had some initial issues with a bad router, and trying to get someone on the (cell) phone who speaks English was a challenge, but once we got all the issues ironed out, no problems since then (knock on wood).

2nd, Verizon is supposed to be the best option here in So Maryland. That's simply not true. I want which ever service it is that allows people in the IPT Bldg on base to send and receive phone calls in the Head. I have a year-old V-cast (LG), and am lucky to get service in certain parts of the IPT bldg, even though I have 4 bars outside the bldg.

Just break down and supply the callers the drugs they're calling for! Think of the money you'll make.

I used to tell callers who wouldn't take "no, that person doesn't have this number anymore ('do you have their new number?' Always loved that one)":

[sincerest voice] "I'm sorry, didn't you hear? So-and-so was in an accident. I think it was a pileup on the freeway. I'm afraid they're no longer with us."

Funny how fast the calls stopped.

Gosh I wish I had that option! Unfortunately, MetroCast doesn't think it is "cost effective" to run a cable to our area for now.

Shame on you!:killingme

Actually, when the callers don't hang-up after hearing my voice - they are very polite. The problem is their are so many of callers!:killingme

The only purpose of the phone right now is to make outgoing calls. I now just leave the phone off-the-hook so I don't get bothered with all the calls.

I just used the phone to call my cell and I still have the other person's phone number. Come on September 15th (latest promise Verizon made to fix the problem they caused Monday).

UPDATE! I just got a call (computerized) from Verizon - they will fix THEIR problem they caused a week ago! I can't wait to be able to put the phone back on the hook. Nevermind all the calls I missed because they were rerouted to another number...

The Public Service Commision can help.

Apparently the Public Service Commission does wonders! I just got two calls from Verizon (they said they were responding to my formal complaint from PSC). The first call apologized for the problem and said they would get right on the problem and credit my account for the time period. I just got a second call from Verizon saying a technician would be out tomorrow! After I get my phone number back - I'll hit them with the noise, static, etc. I've experienced for 5 years! Thanks again.
