Last night I happened to come across "Oliver Stone: The Putin Interviews". One of the things Stone asked him extensively about was Ukraine. I thought it had just been filmed within the last few weeks so I checked it out and as it turns out it was filmed in 2017.
One thing that struck me was Putin said he was willing to negotiate with the United States, but not with Ukraine or Nato because they were so corrupt it was meaningless, and the 'European's' word was worthless.
Now that it's 2022 and Biden is President, I guess the US is lumped in with Ukraine and Nato now.

You really don't think he will respond? He has already said he will.
It's the perfect softball pitch for Putin. A bunch of worthless ineffective sanctions that he can nonetheless point at and cry foul. He has been handed the "justification" he needs to retaliate. After all...Jen Psuki says the sanctions are brutal.
