Is that model supposed to be "plus size"?

When I think of Plus size, that's not the image that comes to mind. She doesn't have the heroin-junkie look, but she is by no means overweight through any stretch of one's imagination.

IMO, 16 is kinda' a border line plus, but it's also considered obese on most female frames.

She's gorgous!

She is "Plus Size"? She looks normal to me. WOOF!!
The problem is, the industry standard for "thin" has gone to the extreme.
If these ladies are bigger than a size 2; I don't really know; guessing here; they're "plus size." What a bunch of crap.

shes a size 16 because shes 6'2" :lmao: Thats why she doesn't look it. Shes very beautiful and curvy. I would love to see more healthy looking models..some are thin, which is fine, I have a few friends (#####es :killingme ) that are naturally very thin..but some of the models look clearly ill. That woman is beautiful and healthy looking.

In the model industry, anything size 6 and above is considered "plus size". Several people and companies in the fashion industry are now challenging this. In the original article there is a link to an article & video about this - worth a look!

...And so, God created woman. And He was pleased.:larry:

God created Man. And then She realized her mistake and created Woman.

And god created man, and he saw that it was good.

Then his wife, seeing that he was happy, had to throw a stick into the bicycle spokes.

Man is the beta version

Did anyone watch the interview with Denise Bidot at the end of the article? She looks heavy and more what I think of as "plus size", but is still very attractive.

I must admit that I'm shallow and love looking at the beautiful young skinny models in the VS catalog. However, I don't kid myself into thinking that the dress she's modeling will look like that on me. Denise Bidot addresses that in her interview, that women who shop online or from catalogs don't really get an idea of what the outfit would look like on a real woman. So from a practical standpoint, yes, there needs to be more realistic models. But from a purely aesthetic view, I hope they don't get rid of the young/skinny/gorgeous.

It's like art: you can admire the beauty and still realize it's not real.
