Waldorf--Ghetto????

Waldorf is a resort compared to some places I have seen. Go for a drive around the Philadelphia zoo and you will see my definition of ghetto. Block after block of falling down buildings, half with no windows, many burned out. And most still have people living in them.

First of all, who in the blue H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICK cares what Hillary Duff says about Waldorf anyway I know I dont.

I love Waldorf!! For those that said its ghetto...then why is everyone moving here?? The real estate here is booming!!

I think there are certain neighborhoods or townhouse communities that could be improved - but they certainly aren't ghetto. If your afraid to go to Waldorf @ night or anywhere for that matter down here, time to grow some balls...some big balls!!

People need to stop associating ghetto with a specific "race" of people and LOOK OUTSIDE THE BOX.... cuz if thats the case, I could say Leonardtown/Hughesville is full of white trash and hermits.

Imagine the uproar..... but im LOOKING OUTSIDE THE BOX....PEOPLE IN GENERAL make a place ghetto, lets stop always associating it with minorities on this board...

i'll also add....i moved to the Carrington neighborhood from the Wakefield neighborhood back in May and I've had my car egged 3 times, firecrackers lit on my lawn, my mailbox vandalized and NOT ONCE did I say - "this place is so ghetto".

You can't generalize a whole neighborhood based on the acts of a group of people.....if I did I would be foolish...along with others who are calling Waldorf ghetto based upon what they've "heard" or things they've "seen" or maybe even "encoutered" maybe once or twice. I live in a white neighborhood, there are maybe 3 black families on my street including me....it is FAR from ghetto. What happened to me is a walk in the park compared to what goes on in downtown B-more.

You dont know what ghetto is until you lived in what someone already described as run down homes on every block...having an actual crack house around the corner...neighborhood smells like trash...a violent crime every day....etc etc....

If you dont get out of those "luxury single family home" neighborhoos built from the ground up in 1 week (*snicker) of course you would think Waldorf is ghetto....but im from NY - I know what ghetto is....its funny as hell to me people are calling WAldorf of all places ghetto....but they dont wanna really come clean to why they feel that way.

ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 15 at 11:15 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 4600 block of Goldeneye Place in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 16-year-old Waldorf boy, was walking behind Arthur Middleton Middle School when he was approached by two suspects. One brandished a handgun and pushed the victim to the ground. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone, cash and his boots and fled the scene on foot. The first suspect is described as a light-complexioned black male, late teen to early 20s, weighing 140 to 150 pounds with braided hair. He was wearing black pants and a gray or black fleece shirt. The second suspect is described as a heavy build dark-complexioned black male, 20 years of age and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt and a black “doo” rag. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer E. Webster is investigating.

Hillary Duff is an AAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! She has to be the MOST unintelligent people on the planet. Who gives a rats azz what she thinks! For that matter - I grew up in California! San Diego is #1 in the country for gang activity. Los Angeles is #2 as far as homicides! Puleeze! Ms. Duff get off your "duff" and actually read a paper. You are as stupid as your comments!

Now, folks, Waldorf is large and sprawled out and highly variable in character. If a portion of it is a ghetto, then some other portions can't be. As a matter of fact I've never been to any part of Waldorf I'd consider a ghetto although there may be some such parts for all I know because I haven't searched the place thoroughly.

It's easier to find Ghetto in LP than Waldorf...they both scare me..

I honestly belive the mall is ghetto...the food court is nasty you have a whole gang of thugs in one corner people hollering out Shaniqua in front of your face. Rude noisy..the only non ghetto ass stores are american eagle and kohls.

What about Macy's, Hollister, Aeropostale, JC Penneys, and Victoria Secrets, to name a few? I wouldn't consider those "Ghetto." What the He!! is a Ghetto store anyway?

Good point...I forgot about those....well victoria's secret is fine for the most part...the aero store here completely sucks it seems as if they hardly have the selection my store does back home. Thank God the Hollister finally opened I was sick of shopping online! Ok Ghetto Stores: The footlocker, last stop, up against the wall, journey's I think I am missing a few...

stores that cater to the thugs. the waldorf mall used to be decent. they've shut d own so many of their "white person stores" to open stores that cater to the thugs. And nitwit is right--that mall is scary... and GHETTO. (at least relative to st. mary's).

It really scares me taking my child there...when we were in the food court one time this girl asked this little boy who couldn't have been older than 10 if he was in a gang...my mouth dropped. I was scratching my head thinking what do 10 and 11 yo know about gangs? And then I thought..."Wow because of good ole mom and dad!"

Waldorf = wannabe hoodlums ... try growing up in Fort Washington and getting your car's windows shot out on more than one occasion, not being able to walk around the neighborhood because of the color of your skin and having to be careful of what COLORS you wear because of the feuding Crips and Bloods .... THEN tell me Waldorf is the ghetto!!! PG is WAY more ghetto. I like my new residence in Calvert. Like someone said earlier, Waldorf is just too over populated! Hillary Duff needs to lay off the hair dye and let her brain get some fresh air.
