He has an agenda alright! He has pissed off all of the good cops that he had working for him and they all retired! He is just making a bigger mess of Charles County than there was before. And he is taking on stuff like this so that the arrest record for the month will be higher than last year's and that makes him look like he is cleaning up the county. Davis should have won that election! People will soon find that out!

Davis did nothing but pose for pictures every week for the paper. Crime grew to a all time high and us as taxpayer heard the cries over and over that he needed more officers on his staff so we give him his additional officers and all he does is misuse them.

Coffey is a breath of fresh air.

No she doesn't. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to go there.

I just think there's so much more to be focusing on than rounding up some girls for showing their private areas.
You cannot be upset with the state of Waldorf crime/thug wise if you turn a blind eye to the vice that draws those people.

Mr. Middleclassobeythelaw typically does not go to a place to watch cooter shaking. These places are a magnet for vice, which is the petree dish where more violent crime grows.

a thug does not rob a guy walking out from a club with strippers...He know's that guy is broke. even a thug can figure out that there is a btter location for robberies and that would be when Mr. Middleclass comes out of the mall to get in his car. He/She carries more money

Uh, not if they've just been to the mall.

Violent crime isn't the Sheriff's fault. There's a lot more involved in crime prevention than just catching bad guys because, again, once you catch them, now what? Toss them in jail so they can get an upset stomach from the food and the ACLU can come swooping down? Put them before a judge so they can have their case dismissed?

Drunk driving and speeding accidents cause more deaths than violent crime does, so it makes more sense to focus on that. If Sheriff Coffey started putting more deputies on crime patrol, the drunks and maniac drivers would be unsupervised, and the screaming would begin about that.

Not saying it's the Sheriff's fault for crime.....But it is there responsibility to manage there force in a way that will put more officers on the streets in a attempt to prevent crime before it occurs. Police presence will not deter all crime but it does send a message to potential criminals that we are here.

Under Davis this was completely mismanaged. During peek hours for Crimes to commit 11pm - 4am he would only have a few officers on duty....Easy to do crime when no one is paying attention :buttkick:

Coffey has already addressed this and put more officers on the streets and I'm confident in time violent crime will decrease based on his changes.

Im with you Princess, he does have agenda and I believe a vendetta against certain people who were once his co-workers. The only reason he was elected was the sweep by the Democrats in the election all the new people moving in are all Democrats and they just voted straight down the ticket, not knowing anything about who they were voting for.
Yes Davis had a big command staff and maybe could have utilized the officers to get more out on the streets, which Coffey is doing now, but I wonder what his administative skills are, its one thing to be a police officer, but you also need to know how to run the Sheriffs Office administratively.
Since he took office, it may look like crime has have come down a little in the following months, his big thing was how the Mall wasnt safe, of course he flooded the Mall with police officers working overtime and moving shifts around at Christmas so that nothing would happen up there while he was Sheriff, now that the holidays are over lets see what happens in and around the Mall.
Lets just see what the next 4 years bring, you know the crime rate will rise with what comes from the northern border. This past weekend in the news you dont even have to look to the northern border, one of the two suspects that robbed and killed the liquor store owner in Fort Washington was from White Plains and another guy who opened fire on Police in SE DC was also from Charles County.

This is true for any state or county.........And Charles has always been good about getting Drunks off the streets. Even Gartland did great in this area when he was Sheriff
