Want a LEMON go to SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA

Just bought 2 cars 3 weeks ago from SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA a 2004 avalon,and a 2003 taurus from mr SHOEMAKER paid a little over $23,000 cash,and was told these were 2 fine cars,and if we had a problem he would take care of it....Well last week my wife noticed a big puddle of fluid in the drive way after I had left for work...So when I got home I called mr SHOEMAKER ,and he said bring it in nexts week,and we'll look at it...I had to go to work tues so my wife took it to SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA ...She was told it had a oil pan gasket leaking ,and it would cost $250.00 to repair it .....Now mr PEED one of the owner's said because he was a friend of mine who I have known for about 20 years would split the bill with me so my wife paid $124.99 for something that probably cost them about $35.00 to do so was'nt that nice of mr PEED.My wife was told that mr Shoemaker no longer had anything to do with the cars.While driving the avalon before I bought it mr PEED lost one of the keys,and remote was told he would find it 3 weeks later they had too make me a key but no remote can't wait to see how much that will cost me maybe he'll split it with me,

I tryed to tell my wife never buy a car from a friend....I was a car salesman for ne ford back in the fiftys.....But I got tired of hearing how all car salesman are scum bags,and liers..so I went ,and got a real job.....I know everyone has heard the one about how can you tell when a car salesman is lying......Ansewer when he opens his mouth....Now I know SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA will have thier sales people who are members of the forum come in here,and have a lot to say so save your breath you may need it to sell another sucker a car.

I know there is nothing that can be done about it but I intend to tell everyone I know to stay as far away from SOUTHERN MD toyota as they can......And I will notify the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU so that they can log it as a complainant agaist SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA if it just saves one person from getting stuck with a LEMON it will be worth it.

As far as the GUARANTEE goes I guess I got the 5 & 5 thats 5 mins or 5 miles which ever comes 1st cause SOUTHERN MD TOYOTA said I had 30 days or a 1000 miles well it would had been under 30 day if they had looked at the car last week but then they told my wife it had a 1001 miles on it.

You only get a 30 day guarantee? That would make me weary from the beginning.

Sorry for the bad experience. That sucks and I'd be ticked off, too.

It is 30 day or 1000 miles he said when he brought in the veh. they told him it was not covered because he had put on 1001 miles.

Guarantee

The Guarantee had ran out because they would'nt see the car until the following week after I had called them said they were really backed up so that put it one day over the 30 day Guarantee.

I must say, I went there for service on my Rav 4 and couldn't have been more pleased with them. Usually auto repair creeps see me coming and start with the song and dance, but they were wonderful and didn't try to jack me around in any way.

Anytime we had a problem with our RX300, which we bought used from them, our warranty covered it. We just payed the $50.00 cpay. We never had a problem with it until we had it for 3 years, which was all wear and tear stuff. They had to take the whole car apart one time and they gave us a rental. They never once charged us for the diagnostic either and that is supppose to be like $75. We just bought a new Highlander from them about 5 months ago. More than likely it should be a while before we have any issues with it.

screw that.. i am done with frickin pos VW's......I hear ya on the warranty. I have one but not much of one. Seriously. My car went in the shop on dec. 3rd and I have yet to get it back. My car needed a whole engine completely. Bad news bears, especially when my car was one of 5,000 made. I am done done and DONE! Time for a new car.. I'm thinking jeep compass..

I was not happy with the sales people at SOMD Toyota when I went down there over a year ago - this bozo was showing us a couple of used Lexus' - one had the trunk held down with a bungee cord! We did look at the new Camry's and that is what she wanted. He did not want to deal on the trade and move too far on the price of the Camry - I knew he was WAY off base. John Peed was not in and the salesman called and left him a message at his house... he later called and said he would talk to us in a couple of days. 'eff that...

I went to Waldorf Toyota and dealt with John Link directly (sales manager). We picked out a new Camry and bought it on the spot. John Peed called a day later at the house and asked if we were going to buy the one of the new Lexus or new Camry... we told him we already owned one courtesy of Waldorf Toyota. Needless to say he was upset when he heard this new (John Peed is a friend of my brother-in-law) - we told him sorry for his loss...

Now John Link is down there - I will ONLY do business with him (on a Toyota or whatever brand he is selling) as he is a family friend.

Go down there and raise Holy Hell on the sales floor on Monday - MLK holiday when it is filled with customers - I would BET John Peed would get it fixed then!

Tell John Link I said hi, and I recommended to do this - I bet my phone will start ringing if you do!

What kind of VW is it that it was 1 of 5000 made?

I don't hink I've heard anything bad about VW before, so what was the problem and how much are they charging you for the new engine?
