Warning speed traps in the morning

Vince

......
Cuz they know if you do, you're gonna be the one on the short end.Sometimes I think it's a dare.
'Go 'head, hit me in the a**; see what happens.' Like that.
I kinda knew that when I said it. They already know if you rearend them it's automatically your fault and any of the liberal Md judges with side with them.

They "conveniently" leave out; 'Yes Your Honor, I did see Vince coming; and yes, I did pull out in front of him."

No, with proper driving skills and a proper brake setup containing 6 piston brakes with slotted and cross drilled rotors. There is no risk to the cars in front of you.

my Jetta 111 ft
my truck not so impressive with a whopping 145 ft. Or maybe it is impressive when you consider its empty weight is 7900 lbs. Truck has 3 piston brakes with slotted and cross drilled rotors that are "claimed" to be 12,000 lb brakes.

I was surprised with the Jetta.

but lets look at this.
I come up on you with my truck, we are speeding, someone pops in front of you and you slam the brakes, I slam mine. You stop, I stop 50 feet in front of you without ever passing.
I guess those you leave behind can sue those I leave behind.

Traffic Safety Initiative Underway in St. Mary’s | Southern Maryland News Net

Based on citizen complaints of speeding and aggressive driving, combined with 2011 motor vehicle collision data, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has identified two travel areas where enforcement efforts will be concentrated.

In 2011, four hundred-sixty (460) motor vehicle collisions occurred on Three Notch Road between Wildewood Parkway and Pegg Road in the California and Lexington Park areas of St. Mary’s County, Maryland. In addition, thirty-nine (39) motor vehicle collisions occurred on Maryland Route 5 inLeonardtown, Maryland.

Over the next couple of months, deputies and troopers will be patrolling these identified areas during the morning and evening hours when traffic volume is increased. Officers will attempt to detect motorists who are violating motor vehicle laws including speeding, unsafe lane change, following too closely, improper passing of school buses and inappropriate cell phone use. Motorists who violate Maryland traffic laws are subject to receive a citation for the violation(s).

Run away development with no plan in place on where you're supposed to fit all the traffic. Around here, the answer is always strict enforcement of speed limits. Like that's gonna fix it.

Smaller cars.
get rid of the average car, mandate smart cars and you have twice as much room on the road, you can even add extra lanes just by repainting the lines.

Oh crap, maybe I shouldnt post such things,,,,,

The scenario you just described means that your insurance company will buy me a new car and the person behind you could possible be buying you a new truck.

In this situation I'm not at fault or the person not being safe. If I am rear ended that means that the car behind me either has an unskilled driver or needs to upgrade brakes.

Maybe so,
by the way, my insurance company would only have to buy your burial expenses.. I would hope they would make it nice. Maybe a really cool ZO6 coffin or something.
I wpuld rathe rwalk than drive around in that peice of junk.

Come on, you wouldnt even want to try one, even if it was impossible for your friends to see you in it?
I would..
not sure I would head out to the highway with it, but it sure looks like fun around a city.

I flew by one yesterday South of the base where I've never seen one parked before.

235 South side of the road, tucked in on a dirt road behind a bunch of mailboxes.. just North of Rod and Reel.

I must of been going fast enough for him to say.. "Why bother, never going to catch him!".

That looks an awful lot like the BMW C1 that the US refused to grand roadworthiness to..

Granted the C1 is a two wheel version, but still..

Thats why I said distracted driving, not texting. Your precious snowflakes in the backseat? They will survive just fine if you dont spin backwards to prop their bottle or change Veggie Tales to the next chapter.

I'm not against doing other things while driving. Pilots, after all, navigate and communicate and operate machines much more complex than the average car every single day. At 200-300 mph. It's not that you cannot do things other than steer and add throttle and brakes as needed. But you absolutely MUST know WHEN you can safely do so. And when you must shed tasks as needed to focus on other stuff.

We dont teach real driving, and them we expect folks to do it well. How stupid is that. You want professional grade driving? Teach it. Expect it. Demand no less than that.

Yeah but in planes doing a lot faster than that they know nobody is out in front of them.

I know that, my point was that working multiple tasks is possible. Police officers do this while driving, its simple task management.
