In My Opinion
you really should either replace it every year or so or quit using and abusing it as much as you do
you can buy them now with bigger receiver tanks so they can be used for up to 5 years before needing factory provided draining.

My mom had kept one of the teddy bears I had as a little girl and gave it to me recently to hand down to my baby boy.

I want to wash it, but I'm afraid I'll ruin it. It's in good shape, it just needs a cleaning. Would you chance it?

If I can't wash it in the washing machine, is dry cleaning an option? Is that something a dry cleaner does?

I put my kids in a pillowcase and wash them on the gentle cycle, so far so good.

when you have a stuffed toy for longer than a certain amount of time the string that holds it together gets fragile....if you put it in the washer and add detergent it might make it that much more fragile and it will fall apart

That's why you put it in a pillowcase and tie it shut. Keeps the agitator from pulling the arms/legs away from the body.

Washing stuffed animals 10-09-2007 06:24 AM I want to tie you to a rusty green tractor with corn husks and fly over the top of you in my WW1 biplane that I converted to a crop duster. I'm going to eat 120 lbs of metamucil and then shard all over your face as I fly by.
