Wawa Gas

Not really a 'member', but they have 2 prices for regular gas. If you have a Sheetz card, it's the same price as WaWa. If you don't, it's as much as 5 cents higher than everyone else.

They've been doing this for a while, maybe 2 years?

You don't have to be a member to use Sheetz but if you have a "Mysheetz" card you can get a discount on the price per gallon.

:yeahthat: you don't always get a discount, it comes after so many dollars spent, plus free offerings/discounts from getting food and drink inside as well. And I think there's 3 cents off on Thursdays.

We've had several double blind taste tests and I've seen several people pick the 10oz buds 10/10 times, it's enough to convince me.

Off topic but Budweiser actually takes samples from every single brewery to St Louis on a fairly regular basis were people that can actually taste a beer and tell you how much hops, yeast, etc was in the beer to ensure consistency from every brewery, ever batch etc. Most people can't even tell which brand of beer they have if they don't know.

I didn't know this. I almost never go there. Thanks for the info.

In Dahlgren, the discount makes the Sheetz a few cents cheaper than the Wawa. I always use the Sheetz anyways since it's next to the gate I use. Idk about in MD bc I almost never fill up there anymore

I believe they've done away with that "promotion". I've noticed the Sheetz in Great Mills has removed the "Sheetz Card" price from their sign.

I'll fill up with Sheetz or Wawa, depending on when I need gas. Every now and then I'll fill up with a major brand, just to get the additives. I don't know if it makes that big of a difference, but I haven't had any fuel related problems in years.

I believe they just do not advertise it anymore. I use my MySheetz card at the Great Mills location all the time and get a 3 cent discount from the price on the sign.

Yeah, but what does it cost to go over the bridge now? $ 6.00? Unless you have to go to VA for something else, it really doesn't save to just go get gas. Right?

Great point. Ever since I stopped smoking and they raised the toll so much..the economics of the trip went all to hell...:nomoney:

All this aside, the Wawa (and Sheetz) post signs that their fuel is 10% ethanol.

The old Wawa on GMR (Quik Mart?) sells Gulf gas and has no ethanol sticker on the pump, at least that I've ever seen. Does this mean there gas is 100% gas?

Does Wawa or any other unbranded gas "hurt" your car, NO! Does the name brand stations have more additives to help clean some internal parts, probably. If you have an old clunker held together by tape and bubble gum, then save the extra cents. If you are making a big payment for a nice car or like having the peace of mind, then spend the extra few cents and get the brand of your choice. I get Wawa or other unbranded gas sometimes, but visit the "big boy stations" such as Shell frequently too. My belief is that the extra additives will help to clean the deposits left behind by the generic gas. Do I pay too much attention to the Shell commercials? Probably...
But you can't see your intake valves and it gives me peace of mind. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer here, in the end it is just fuel.

 I have appreciated the humor in the posts today. It seems members have lightened up a bit. We have to in this day and time.
