...OK, we typically buy two of the cheapest ones we can find, beat the living hell out of them and they last two years. Last year, we found a pair for $130. One is dead and the other may as well be.

So, try and talk me into a Stihl or other high end piece. I went on our local dealers site figuring, OK, splurge for a $200 unit and it will last 3-4 years, money ahead.

Uh, well, they start at $280. Start.

Their top machine is freaking $580 dollars! What the hell??? A weed eater???

I use it to clear heavy brush, trimming, and with the medal blade cut small trees. Never drain the gas in the winter and have yet to clean it.

Yes, I have gone all Stihl and wont ever change back.

I've had my Stihl chain saw for around 15 years now and it's still running as good as ever. Stihl backpack leaf blower from hell and just bought a Stihl weedwacker for around $220 after going through a host of others. The Stihl will last.

I have a 4-stroke from Lowes. Love it. Will never go back to a 2 cycle string trimmer. In fact, I have a brand new 3 year old 2 cycle string trimmer in my shed that you can have if you want it.

Their easy starting, great running and flat out toughness will make you guys want to treat them well. I didn't realize how much a difference there could be until I bought a Stihl.

The place I used to work for had a backpack Stihl blower, people there were rather abusive with it. It was constantly in the shop for repairs and it never seemed to have the power I thought it should have had. Just my .02.

I used to cut grass, back in the day....

All we used were Stihl equipment.

Never had a problem with them in the 3 years I worked there.

I also, personally, have a Stihl backpack blower. That thing rocks, and never has a problem starting.

My Craftsman weedwhacker....that's another story.

After going through 2 Craftsman pieces of crap, we got a Husqvarna 4 stroke.

Quiet, no mixing gas and oil, and no problems so far.

I just picked up the least expensive straight shafted weed eater a few weeks back, it kicks ass. I was tired of buying a new one every two years as well.

I am all stihl now, i have an 028 that i cant kill, and a backpack blower that rocks.

if you get a stihl make sure to buy some of the synthetic 50:1 oil, Stihl doubles your warranty to 4 years if you get a six pack of single gallon bottles or a bulk bottle. (might not apply to commercial use).
