I'm looking to buy one as well... Looked it up on CR and found Stihl rated at #2, right behind a Husqvarna.

#1. Husq 223L - $260 (overall 83)
#2. Stihl FS 45 - $150 (overall 81)
#3 Stihl FS 40 C-E - $190 (overall 81)

You said choices and listed one, thought I was giving an alternate or at least a price comparison that you could use to "wheel and deal". :buddies:

Oh. My bad. Of course I know everyone up here. We've just been dealing with Ogg more so...

FWIW; I don't wheel and deal. I stink at it and have no patience for it. If you're good to me, you charge what you charge and it costs me money to be spending time trying to save $20, especially if I gotta run around.

Late as usual...I loved Stihl for quite awhile, then starting having problems. Switched to Dolmar and have been using the same saws , blowers and weedeaters for the last 5 years. And no one is what you might call gentle with any of it. Jonsered makes some nice stuff too, but is harder to find.

Alcohol in the gas is going to ruin small engines and none of them are going to last any more.
If the EPA has it's way and they start selling E15 it's going to accelerate

And the winnah is...FS 90 R.

Just got done doing the horse field fence line...for the first time this spring... (Bungle in the Jungle). I was in 3-4 foot tall, thick grass and weeds, thistle, that weed rose and milk weed. It seems to have been built backwards. It works better for a right hander, aka 'the wrong way' which I found out when I got really tired holding it lefty, the correct way. This thing is a freaking scythe. The draw back is all that power eats some string. I went through something like 100' for 300 yards.

Sounds like a mini bike instead of a gas powered sewing machine.

Also got the chain saw attachment which we haven't fired up yet. Have a bunch of trees that need minor trimming for mowing.

Thanks, all, for input. :buddies:
