Give it a few years. Right now it is kind of a Charlie Brown cherry tree.

daylily, do you do anything special to it such as fertilize?? Planted one 3 years ago in our yard and it still looks almost identical to desertrat's. It's alive and flowering but i have never even had to trim it and when we planted it, it was about 6 ft. tall and today it is stll about 6 ft. tall. The picture of ours would be almost identical to the one desertrat posted. It'll look great, probably even later this season. We planted one in memory of my Dad 3 years ago (in March on his bday) and by the end of that summer, there were tons of branches. They grow so fast and long, I have to trim them a few times a year. Love weeping cherry trees, so pretty!

This one is a memorial also. Good for you guys planting one for Dad. The ones in Leonardtown were her favs.
Just planted last fall.
Here is a picture of ours this is year 3. Asked my wife and sil. and they both remember it being a dwarf weeping cherry. They bought it and my task was to plant it and keep it alive.
