Yeah they used to (and may still) put that thing on your arm that somehow determined like your percentage of body fat.....but this is actual weigh in's...like you know the class stands in line and they are weighed on scales.....Ludacris I say...

My daughter is in second grade, and has put on a few pounds, she is by no means fat, but not the skinny little thing she has been in previous years, and she comes home occasionally asking if she is fat 2nd grade??? So, NO I definately don't think they need weigh in's......
I guess I just don't understand what they will accomplish?? mandatory diets?? yeah right.....Like kids don't have scales at home, like they aren't weighed at the doctors.....I just totally do not agree with it, although like I have said before I am not fully educated on the subject.

You sure did jump to a lot of conclusions from your limited knowledge and did a whole lot of this ..... :jameo:
No conclusions jumped to there.....what I said was that they actually weigh the kids (which is what they said on the news)....That my kiddo had put on a few pounds....and that the schools can not enforce "mandatory diets" at home....and ONCE AGAIN said that I was not fully educated on the subject...

It's your story tell it like you want to. Ludacrous, mandatory diets, totally do not agree are not strong conclusive words.... :jameo: :drama:

This might have been said already, but public schools collect statistical data for all sorts of purposes: school assistance determination; health trend data; whatever. The kids are like a captive study group for whatever the DOE wants to use them for. If you don't want your child weighed, take it up with the principal, or the Board, or even higher.

IMO ->The BMI (body mass index) is a bunch of shiat also. According to the BMI Clinton Portis is considered obese. It does not take into account muscle weight vs. body fat content. It gives beefcake guys like myself a complex. :killingme
