Not by any significant amount. It does make me seethe with anger that the Fed has let it (illegal immigration) go this far. I don't shop Lowe's any more because of their bilingual signs. :patriot:

A little ink and paper can't be too much, the retailers biggest concern is keeping a customer. So they need to cater to the second bigger audience which is spanish of course. Pretty soon there will be phillipino language print also, so expect 3 languages in the near future.

Just got my USPS order form for the holiday stamps. It now has a spanish form along with english. It's now 50% larger so the materials must be 50% more, plus cost in the change over.

Not sure why this is so bothersome?? When you travel to another country, wouldn't you be pleased to read things in your language? I see it whenever I travel abroad. Why should the US be any different. Not all people from foreign countries are illegal.

I am of Filipino descent and was a bit irritated by your comment. Filipinos has very seldom asked for anything special from the government. Actually, if you go to Lowe's, there were several foreign languages by the Customer Service Department, Filipino not included. Just for your info, the Philippines is number 5 English Speaking country in the world. We may have the accent, but we speak better English than most, some Americans included.

Just trying to figure out with some kind of logic of why the prices on everything keeps going up and up and up. I would figure that to keep a customer things would have to be reasonable in price and with out not having a great DEMAND like FOOD. But the things that have a second language I was figuring tooling, time, a machine that would handle more words, ink, paper, designing, packaging etc.
Yes, it would be nice for things in other countries to be in English and no I do not travel but really all I have ever seen is on TV that is or hearing about from somebody that does travel is street sign or directions and never heard of a country that is devoted like the U.S. to any single language like Spanish. I see things like English speaking classes for free for people to speak English. But don't see any for the English speaking people to speak Spanish. and NO NO NO I am not picking on any body of any other culture or language. I Just do not understand other then GREED why are things getting more expensive to live period.:nomoney: And just wanted to get somebody else's input and THANK YOU ALL FOR IT!!!

The federal government keeps printing more money to cover their debts.
Wealth is not increasing, just the number of dollars.
Each dollar is worth less and less as the supply increases

How much is a little? After the first package printing? Fifth? Millionth? However, I don't know how many product packages are notably changing; I have noticed how Spanish is now printed on some things where it was not a few years ago, but the package seems the same, so I figure they've removed or rearranged things to make space for the new wording.

Tagalog is descended from Spanish. Thus, if a Filipino cannot understand English, they should be able to understand Spanish at least well enough to get by.

Seeing multiple languages in tourist locations is one thing; seeing them in places like the grocery store and so on is indicative that a large number of non-English speakers are settling.

How long before the simplest instruction manual becomes a veritable novel? How long before you feel like a foreigner in your own country? Guess what: head to a place like Miami or L.A. and you will.

We've already seen cases where cops are put on the spot for not speaking a perpetrator's language (e.g., Spanish). How much dumber does it have to get?

We were stationed in Canada and they actually have " Language" police. If businesses etc, didn't have things displayed in both languages they would be fined. I do think it's a great idea to teach a second language in elementary school. My son had 30 minutes of French everyday- he was 4- and picked up no problem.

I don't care how many languages they put on the signs as long as English is on top and in one instance (don't remember where), it was not...which really pizzed me off.

I don't know if that would happen but depending on a business' customer base, the second laguage being printed might be tagalog, which is one of the top five languages spoken in the U.S.

Someone had to sit down and write the code to put the extra info on the slip. Add the cost of the programmer's time, the resources he used, the networks involved in transmitting the new info to the registers...... Yes, all these things existed anyway, but now a portion of it can be accountable to the new wording on the slip.

I think many companies print things in multiple languages so they can sell their product in multiple countries, right?

Canada has two official languages and requires everthing to be in both English and French.
The U.S. should adopt English as the official langue and put a stop to enabling illegal aliens.
(FYI - not a lot of tourists go to Lowes)
