My older sister and I were raised by single parents, attentive parents...lol my father was deployed many times while we grew up. My son was also raised by a single parent.
I have many friends that were also raises by single parents.
All of us,,,, well except me are responsible tax paying adults.
Funny you edited out bitch boi.... KooKoo gemma....
It's difficult to get good data on whether or not inmates were raised in fatherless homes, but current estimates put the number at between 70% and 85% of male inmates grew up without a father figure in their lives. The exceptions don't disprove the general rule.

There are 330 million people in this country, so if you figure just 1% of them are mental that's 3,300,000 nutters walking around doing what nutters do.

All these hysterics talking about how fearful they are to drop their kid at school wondering if they'll ever see them again - the numbers don't support that fear. Your child is far more likely to be beaten to death by you than killed at their school. These people don't flip out every time they strap their kid into a car seat and head to the grocery store, and yet fatal car accidents happen every single day in this country.

The media creates this fear and hysteria. If it weren't for them constantly drilling it home, people would see these stories and go, "That is terrible, poor people," and go on about their lives.

I agree, I believe a lot of it is because of the economic statis that folks fall into.

Fatherlessness - broken homes - and so forth - they are not THE de facto CAUSE of these things. Like MANY things - it does not "cause" it, because there are notable exceptions. If you read Ben Carson's biography - he SHOULD have become a sociopath.

But the correlation between the two is so enormously high, there's no question it is a contributing factor. And the relation between joining a gang and having a strong parent or parents also plays a role. Young men join gangs in part to belong to something.

The Left is trying to make several cases, none of which have any basis on fact - as DeeJay likes to remind us, they make appeals to emotions rather than facts. So they want to ban "assault weapons" even though they've shown no indication that they contribute even marginally to the gun homicide rate or mass shootings. They would have us believe that in the last fifty years, people commit crimes because there's a higher prevalence of guns, while ignoring the entire panoply of things that have occurred in society that brought us to the point where teenagers kill people.
(BTW - yes, there's a LOT more guns than there were fifty years ago - by that reasoning, there should be a comparable increase in gun crime - but there isn't).

They're making the ridiculous case that having large magazines for guns contributes to mass killings - and there is ZERO data to back THAT up. They want to ban guns, if possible, or make ownership of some guns illegal.

This hasn't worked anywhere in the country. The cities with some of the most onerous gun laws rank the highest in gun deaths - because criminals don't buy their guns from the local gun shop and they don't fill out forms for background checks. There IS data showing that only a few percent of those behind bars who've committed crimes with guns - GOT theirs legally.

I recall a joke - although when I think about it, it's not actually funny - I read as a kid about a parent who hated the idea of his kid ever being the recipient of corporal punishment. He tells the teacher "Just slap the kid on either side of him - he'll get the message". That is what gun laws do - they punish the innocent to penalize or obstruct the guilty.

And we’ve come full circle folks, gas is $5 a gallon, kids having to practice active shooter drills, and now your shampoo smells like onions. Welcome to your new garbage existence, you better keep that smile on your face!
