It's definitely not a brown recluse, speaking as a GA native, where they rule the land. However, I am not sure what kind of spider it is. I'll stick with the land octopus.

I think someone I know in Lusby was bit by one that was in their boot. He took the dead spider to the Dr with him and they said it was a brown recluse :shrug:

That's the type of spider that almost gave me a heart attack last week! I shoveled mulch from a pile into a wheel barrel, then shoveled the mulch from the wheel barrel into a raised garden bed. Then I saw that nasty spider that was practically as large as my hand!
It kept trying to climb outta the wheel barrel but kept sliding back down. I was done mulching at that point!
