What no tiki bar thread?

We go during daylight hours only. Then out to dinner. The ugliness :otter: doesn't usually start until dusk, I've found. We've only lived in the area since '98, and the craziest was the year the Post ran an article about it the weekend before. Other than that, it is kind of dull. Still a spring kick off tradition, along with the first baseball game, where I'll be tonight...

You ever notice how nothing is ever the way it used to be?

I still like to go and people watch. That is the fun part to me, that and seeing people there every year that I don't normally see. And let me just say $6 for a drink is not pricey. I just came back from Las Vegas and they were $9 for a small teeny glass drink. Talk about sticker shock. And I am sure people have posted about a thousand times blah blah blah but it's fun to post about. People have no problem saying 50 times over don't use this company or that painter and thats no big deal.

I'm going and freezing my arse off and having fun. What's wrong with that?

The tradition lives on!
Not one thing, you have fun. I can have fun without being there, getting trampled and when I go gamble, I drink free..

Why do you guys hate tiki opening so much, it is tradition people!!! Everything gets cleaned up afterwards. Stop being grumps about it!
Kwanza is now a supposed tradition too and I don't celebrate that either. :moon:

I know somebody who lives near the Tiki Bar. Apparently, some of the customers think it's okay to urinate on their house!! I don't care if it IS waterfront property. I wouldn't want to have to deal with that. How 'bout you guys???

I guess I don't count as a true Southern Maryland resident, since I've never been to the Tiki on opening day. I haven't been to the Tiki in at least five years.
