Kid Charlemagne... Steeley Dan.... I saw them live a few times. They had their followers although many were confused by their lyrics, BUT the music....was unparalleled!!

The melody sounded very upbeat but when you listening the songs meaning and what its all about, it doesn't match. Much of their music was just that.
Mixed, multiple musicians, west coast, New York, songs of redemption, dirty side of people, sarcasm... yet sold millions of albums.
