Don't laugh. But I've been on a Cure bender for a few days now. Can't leave this one alone. Robert Smith is one sexy guitar man.

Bah...I have no idea how to embed.

Look at the youtube url in the address bar at the top. In it, you'll see an equal sign (=) and an ampere sign (&). Basically, you're going to copy everything between the two.

The whole thing looks like w w w dot youtube/watch?v=jfbI7yoKz04&feature=related (without the spaces, obviously).

The part you want to copy is jfbI7yoKz04

Sometimes the & sign is not there, and nothing comes after that. It'll look like v=jfbI7yoKz04, in which case, just copy everything after the equal sign.

Then, click on the red Tube icon above the reply box. Paste what you copied from the url between the two ][ signs, then click submit. You'll smack yourself once you realize how easy it is to do. The copy/paste part, not the smacking yourself.

It'll look like this, only with no spaces between characters:

[ YOUTUBE ]jfbI7yoKz04[ /YOUTUBE ]

Click Submit reply and you're done.

Jeff Beck feat. Imogene Heap. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but together, it's chemistry, baby!

Prior to Charlie Christian's guitar players were always in the background. His playing was ground-breaking for putting the guitar out front-and-center. Every great guitar player today - rock, blues, jazz... - should thank this man for making the guitar a featured instrument.

Saw these gents in concert last Sunday at Jiffy Lube Live. This song has just stuck with me. Can't hear it enough.

This one came up on Pandora tonight while I was playing Skyrim. The sound is a little tinny, but good stuff.

This one is a new one for me. I think the name of the song is "Sketches of Spain," but I'm not positive.

Enjoy.

This is a triple-play, featuring Johnny Cash singing one of his lesser known songs called "Luther Played the Boogie." There really was a Luther (Perkins), and he played backup for Johnny as one half of a duo known as the Tennessee Two (the other half was Marshall Grant). Finally, for fun, Luther sings (which I understand he didn't do a lot of singing) with June Carter Cash.

Sadly, there aren't a lot of clips out there of Luther by himself; just a couple of short ones. You'll have to turn up the sound on June and Luther. The sound isn't' real loud or clear.

I said there weren't a lot of clips out there of Luther Perkins, and that's still true, but I found a few longer ones, plus there are some of such luminaries as Carl Perkins (no relation that I know of) playing tribute to Luther. Of course, there are the early Johnny Cash songs that do feature Perkins, but not many of him solo, or instrumental duets with other people. Still, lots of good stuff.
