The poignancy of this song is that Healey was born with a rare form of cancer that caused him to go blind at 11 months of age, and in fact wore prosthetic eyes all his life. According to Wiki, he began playing guitar at age 3, which explains his style - he wasn't big enough to get his arms around a guitar at that age! Sadly, he passed in 2008 at age 41.

Fortunately I have never owned a Heritage Softtail. LOL. But we all reach a point I would imagine.
