What Was Your Wedding Song?

Twenty Something
I really want "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi, too....maybe that can be a random song thrown in

Traditional,

and perhaps sappy, but done with right voice and accompiant:

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubador is acting on his part.
The union of your spirits, here, has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love. there is love.

A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home
And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one.
As it was in the beginning is now and til the end
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again.
And there is love. there is love.

Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
And if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you've never seen before?
Oh there's love, there is love.

Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love. there is love.

We played that one, also. That one, Time in a Bottle and some John Denver song I'll have to think about. I want to say it was "Sunshine."

My nephew hired some band for his wedding that had a singer that nailed that song. One of the all time best songs for weddings.
My original plan was to have my cousin sing it (she has an amazing voice), but as it turned out, she was about 8 and a half months pregnant and living in New Mexico when the wedding date rolled around. So, Etta brought down the house. :lmao:

Angel Eyes
The Jeff Healey Band

Girl, you're looking fine tonight,
and every guy has got you in his sights
What you're doing with a clown like me,
is surely one of life's little mysteries

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Well, I'm the guy who never learned to dance,
never even got one second glance
Across a crowded room was close enough,
I could look but I could never touch

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Don't anyone wake me,
if it's just a dream
'Cause she's the best thing,
that's ever happened to me

All you fellows, you can look all you like,
but this girl, you see, she's leavin' here with me tonight

There's just one more thing that I have to know,
if this is love why does it scare me so?
It must be something only you can see,
'cause girl I feel it when you look at me

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Then Me the best man and a groomsmen did a Karoke version of "You Never Called Me By My Name" by David Allan Coe. Then I had to sing it at each of their weddings.

Weddings and funerals one kills you and one buries you. :sadworld:

That song played at our reception and that is one of my favorite parts to watch our wedding video... if you can imagine a couple hundred people or so on the dance floor dancing and singing out loud along with it...

This one should be worked into a wedding somewhere.......

Heartland ~~ I loved her first

Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first

Our daughter has already informed her father that this is the song him and her will dance to at her wedding.

I don't listen to country music, but my dad bought me a cd of this band. He said listen to track #9. I popped it in the cd player when I left my parents house and was bawling. :bawl: He said if it was out at the time of my wedding, he would of had it played then.

That is the perfect wedding song. When I say wedding song I think the one you dance to at the reception.
I have already planned to request that be played for the father and bride dance at my daughter's wedding. :jameo:

She is only 5 years old. Can you remind the name of it in 20 years? :bigwhoop:
