True...Parks & Rec offers summer camps...my kids seemed to really like that.
Yeah but this summer's registration is over and unless things have changed, they always have less spots than kids. That would once again point to finding daycare.

Before is not even needed...

Can't he catch a bus from my house?
Just remember elementary schools don't start until 8:45 and that would mean him getting on a bus after 8 a.m. Not sure what kind of supervision you are thinking for him.

Duct tape his happy ass to the porch railing and give the bus driver a knife to cut him free at pick up time.

I'm thinking the BG opening a daycare comment was wishful thinking... but if I'm wrong, I don't see her being about to get her training in, house and yard straight in order to be licensed before the summer so I'm thinking that's not an option.
License? We don't need no stinkin license!!

And what is wrong with my yard?? hmmMmMMM?

As some of you may know, I recently moved. I am now in a different school district.

Since the current school year is almost over, I am keeping him where he is at. I was considering moving him to his proper school for the begining of next school year but he would be going to a school that is closed and they are set up in portables.

Would you:
You are a great father, and what ever you decide to do will be the right thing.
You know your son.
Good luck.

Kids are resilient and change isn't going to kill him. He has to learn to roll with things. I'm a firm believer in neighborhood schools. I think if the school is decent and he is learning, it's much better for his social development to be able to have local friends.
I agree with this and have nothing else to add, if you can believe that.

I misread the question, I thought you had moved and wanted to know whether to keep your kid where he's at for the next month and a half or move him NOW to a new school.. sorry.... I say get him in the new school next enrollment. He should be making friends in the neighborhood and he probably would like to go with them to the same school next school year. He would probably feel less alienated and more able to bond with them if they can talk about the same kids, teachers, homework, etc... :yay:

I was thinking that you were thinking that he would catch the bus at your house and I was thinking that he was too young to do this completely on his own. And I was thinking that if you put him on the bus at 8ish that would put you to work at 9ish and most after school child care places expect kids to be picked up by 5 or 5:30 and that would mean you couldn't get a 8 hour day in. Pete is in a neighborhood and he has posted before that he has worked out something with a neighbor to make sure there was a level of supervision and that's why it works for Pete, but I'm thinking you are more secluded... but if I'm mistaken than ignore this post. :yay:

Of course it might change a little but if you look here http://www.smcps.k12.md.us/ they have a bus route schedule. You can guess about what time they will be rollin through.
