What's the ideal situation in which to initiate a first kiss?

That's when you knee them in the nuts. If you're letting people forcibly kiss you and manhandle you then you got issues.

Well its happened a few times and about the third head jerk back they seem to get a hint. I just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings -- if its a full fledged struggle then hell ya' I'll knee them.

I've always found that the most comfortable, least awkward and all around just best time to initiate a first kiss is right after you have sex for the first time.

At the end of a great meal, with great wine, great conversation. But I definitely wouldn't do the walk-you-home, on-the-doorstep kiss. That's too cheesy -- it's what's expected.

personally, i like the before dinner (or whatever), get it outof the way, so it won't be uncomfortable at the doorstep kiss. Wether thats on a walk or at the first stoplight where you have a short silence, depends on the situation.

As to asking, when i was in college you had to take training that encouraged the guy to ask at every milestone if it was ok to proceed. Seemed pretty overboard. But the few times I have asked first, its gone over well. Just be more creative than "youre pretty, can i kiss you???"

Scream "RED LIGHT", and lean over and kiss her.. on the way to the restaurant..
....or even the parking lot SUPRIZE bomb.. before you even get into the car....
